I was reading from my devotional today and it was going over John 10:11 which says “I AM the good shepherd. the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” Jesus illustrates his love and care for us using shepherds showing how a Shepard is willing to ward off predators even to the extreme of dying for them to keep the flock alive Jesus stands firm even at the cost of His own life like a shepherd does and does not flea like a hired hand. Shepherds also guide there flock through barren wilderness through green pastures and even still waters. Even though there are times God feels distant His eyes are always on you even through times of struggle or times of immense joy but when God feels distant remember you are always within his reach of his protective and mighty hand. He will not leave you nor abandon you in the darkness. Jesus is with you protecting you and guiding you throughout the day the problem is not Jesus lack of care; the problem is our lack of awareness. My challenge for everyone today including myself is to go through today realizing Jesus is with us all the time. What change will occur to our thoughts our motives our words and or actions when we realize God never abandons us and what would it look like to let him guide us through Barren wilderness and even green pastures in our life.
