Sekiro is an amazing game it has incredibly cinematic combat and a really enjoyable story

With that said bg3 is on an entirely different level it's taking people 100+ hours to beat the game and they'll instantly start a new character. No two run of bg3 are the same it has an insane amount of branching paths it's genuinely worth every second of the hype it's gotten. For instance in my current run I made a deal with a hag and lost my eye as it was in a deal and now I have extra intimidation on what was a already intimidating necromancer

Action rpg part is good, but that's all. V is a dead character. RPG is only on action, which is why they changed the game genre before a while of game's release. World is empty. As a mercenary you should be able to do a lot more things than you can currently. But you just follow dots and complete basic missions. In lore point, side missions are good. In gameplay, mehhhhh. Can't say the open world feels like a real open world.

AC Valhalla's open world is kinda better. Unnecessarily big, but better.

I'm 10 hours in and it's pretty bland, its alright. The world is pretty dead compared to like elden ring. After the devs mistake of making the balance class which is improperly made, I've completely lost interest in the game since it gears you towards a quality build that doesnt even exist in the game.

Currently, I'm in the conceptualization stage of game development and I'm struggling with something. Obviously, it's gonna be a souls-like but I need to know how unique it is compared to others.

First, the main selling point is that the player is the boss. There will be around 16 "starter classes" all acting as their own boss. This creates an issue though that there would be a lack of customizability

So a solution was to have the moveset be the area of customization. Each starter class has its own base 4 moves, all of which can be selected and exchanged. Other sets can be found around the map

Second, leveling will be different in that you level each limb totaling a level. For example, you can level your front limbs to grant more extreme dexterity, etc.

Third, dodging is based on how much you charge it. A brief tap dodge will grant a small-ish amount of I-frames but if you hold it down, you get longer distance and more I-frames

Lastly, there will be "braclets" which will boost the ability selected.

Obviously, there's more but these are the major ones

when you get warped to fight last boss if you followed an npc story you can get a different ending
the bonfire will have a toggleable option to transport you to final boss arena

Just finished the Demon's Souls Remake for the first time. First time I played Demon's Souls, period. Wasn't too bad overall. Was fun to see the origin of the entire Soulsborne genre.

Still haven't played Sekiro or Armored Core but having played the rest, my ranking of Soulsborne games is:

Bloodborne > Elden Ring > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls 1 > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls 2
