Hey general question: If you wanted a game to have super fast paced flashy movement (Quick dashes and high jumps that can chain and possibly being able to tap jump off of vertical surfaces) how would you balance that for multiplayer as far as non hitscan ranged weapons? Only options I can think of is to make the hits more rewarding ie. 1 shot headshots and 2 shot bodies but then if the opponent isnt good at movement or you sneak attack them its op no?

I think it incentivizes to learn movement so that's not a bad idea

Also there shouldn't be any sneak attacking if it's fast paced @sage minnow

But honeslty depending on the speed of the game having all hit-scan weapons might be better because it'll still be a challenge to hit opponents

When i say sneak attacks, I mean like people hiding in trees watching you fight and then attacking when you're low or using stealth/illusion magic to sneak up on you which are just common gamer tactics

Thanks man!😁 its gonna be a long ass project cuz its all of our first game which also means we'll have to adapt and grow as gaming ecolves so the end result may be nothing like the current idea but we will still focus on speed, movement and high skill gap. Other things in the game are machine learning AI companions that grow with the player. Not like a combat companion, thats something else we're working on with pets but the companions can be compared to raphael from slime series. Basically as you progress through the world it will remember things for you and over time as you unlock new skills it will set up "Chain skills" for you so that you will have a unique moveset based on what skills you have and how you usually use them

That will then take things off of your skill bar to open more space for new skills but will also lock those skills into your chains unless you manually move them

Technical Question: I have a 4k monitor with G-Synch, I used my PC on 4k 60 HZ because my card supports that maximum but i game on 2k 144HZ, ig the G-Sync is always on, when I play on 2k does it bring my Hz to 60 as per my normal 4k resolution I use off gaming or it has nothing to do with it?
