Ds1 is heavily overrated. I get it, you have the feeling you see more of the world, but its obvious that this was one of fromsoftware's earlier games. Dark souls 3 is such an improvement, people who prefer ds1 just like the nostalgia feeling of it imo

Main reason I started the topic of liquidating golden seeds is because in Sekiro after you've defeated the same boss a couple of times in NG+2 or something, the boss remembrance can be converted into attack power, and thus add some bonus to your character 's strength infinitely (in theory)

If they thought of that in the old game why can't they do something similar in the new game

I can't really scientifically analyze which game has worse hitboxes, but from playing through both games, while there certainly are some bad hitboxes in DS1 none are really egregious enough to individually stick out in my memory over the course of several playthroughs

the single most memorable moment in the game for me was enountering a mimic, recognizing it as such, then going around behind it to get the first hit in and then immediately getting grabbed from behind it and one-shot

in particular, I remember doing this repeatedly from different distances to see if it could be reproduced at different distances, and even with the zweihander's range it happened consistently

I recognize that DS 3 is probably a better game than DS 1 for example I just like 1 more. I get that. A lot of the bosses are less than fun sometimes. I think they went overboard with the whole attack delay stuff too where you have to get hit several times before you learn the timing. One of my favorite bosses is the Dancer in DS3 just because the timing is more difficult but it's not delayed and good reflexes and timing can still carry you. She's never killed me once
