its a yellow relic so itd replace the follow up which i know is used often on wylder as a wylder main but sometimes it becomes obsolete with weapon choices that arent greatswords

Wylder is more well rounded, and can do pretty much everything decently, if not very well. Wylder easily has the best movement for general traversal, and his overall damage output is gonna be more consistent, with less set up. Also, his ultimate charges in about 3 ligth attacks and does insane poise, and just general damage.

A good raider, ironeye, recluse, guardian, executor will always be noticeable
A good wylder will not get noticed at all they're all monkeys jumping everywhere

But i value stance breaking a lot and chilling mist is insanely strong

yeah it throws a bunch of frostbite mist like AOE and coats your weapon in frost. increases damage and AOE + status. reallllllly good for low level and even viable for most bosses at +2

personally i think stam on combo is a bit overrated but that's totally personal preference, not a fan of the bottom one at all though - contradictory buffs.
you're getting more damage (up to what, 30-40% cap?) which would make marks easier to break, yet you're also extending them.
that would be a good one to swap out for a relic that has a better secondary effect. whichever one of those 2 perks you prefer + pretty much anything else.
thrusting counterattack buffs are really solid, poison on ult charge can be useful to get more damage out of every shot of it

fair enough. also i do like the evergaol set up a lot, it's one of the most consistent builds in the game with basically no downsides so personally i'd lean towards keeping the key if you have another relic with gaol stacks that might have a slightly more complementary set of perks.
if not, the current set up is purely a net positive so if you're chilling on it dw about mixing it up, it enables you to do some of the best damage you can get out of ironeye. just know it's worth keeping an eye out for another gaol relic if RNG blesses you.
scolapede is right that the counterattack buff is temporary but 30 seconds of +20% damage on top of full gaol stacks is nutty so i'm pretty biased towards it

Even better if you find one with the taking damage increase your damage effect
