Golden parry is my personal favourite, the animation is great.

Since I'm using a straight sword as a main weapon, I just aim for stance break when it's impossible to parry, so charged heavies and impaling thrust go very well.

By the way I tried to use wakizashi for parry and uchigatana as a main weapon - it's actually very fun combination, since wakizashi can be powerstanced with katanas, so you have extended moveset, but passive bleed makes it too strong xD

Thanks! Yeah, buckler parry is truly the best, and I even think buckler is even better than Carian Retaliation, because with less recovery frames you simply are able to create more parrying windows for yourself.

Retaliation has 1 extra parry frame and 1 extra recovery frame, so the delay between parries is 2 frames less than buckler - it's just a tiny detail that makes buckler a little stronger against quick combos.

Yes, it's mostly a matter of preference, but what I mean is that if an opponent uses a quick multi-hit combo on you and you miss the parry on the first hit, the parry may not have time to recover for the second hit. But actually it doesn't matter so much, retaliaton still has one of the best frames. Anyway, right now I'm running with a dagger that has 15 recovery frames - sometimes it's just hell xD

i do alot better when i'm closer to him and playing aggressively but that just doesnt make sense to me, i could dodge OUTSIDE of his attack & he'll still trace and hit me, it feels really janky to just roll into his crotch & avoid all his hits but when i roll where, i think realistically, would be a range that he can't hit me i get hit anyways

like atp it's almost comical how i can keep rolling into his crotch and avoid all his attacks, and i enjoy that just as little as i do as getting hit by his instant-firing laser beams

i've beaten bloodborne and ds3, and i think those games themselves absolutley dwarf elden ring in it's entirity

this is just my opinion of the game, and ik it's within an elden ring discord but frankly i dont give two shakes of a rat's tail
