What do I need to do to strafe messmer's delayed stab better? A lot of no-hits using the iron balls are attacking during it, changing their hitbox and strafing it, but using different builds the tracking always hits me?
Seems like a more difficult than normal strafe - anyone know why it works this time, but sometimes the tracking is much stronger and hits?

The only time i’ve felt tracking is much stronger on the strafe has been when ive over-strafed, it also just felt more jank doing it locked on at times. also curious if your experiencing the same issues with the version of this same move that doesnt have the spear with flames?

Yeah yeah okay I see. So I just tested on repeat last action - I actually found that sprinting a bit was the key and definitely better.
But as you said, it's the first roll that is crucial to be in the correct position to start pre-strafing the delayed drag. That part is key, thanks for the input.

I will now make sure to sprint and strafe it really hard, I was walking too much and underestimating how much I really have to turn him

Can you also remind me why everyone uses Alabaster sword? Especially without the int requirement just as you are in this clip? I remember in randomizer, players were using that a lot and it's considered a top tier weapon. It's like if you don't have the requirements the stamina cost on the Charged R2's is less or something? And it has like high motion values?

You pretty well get it already hahah, stam cost on the cr2 is VERY low, high motion values, and you dont gotta meet the int requirement to get nice damage from it hence it being used so much on rl1

for Messmer you definitely get a lot more cr2 punishes with iron ball/star fist though so not sure if the higher damage outweighs the extra punish windows

for rl1 no roll Messmer is scripted iirc because that's how good iron ball is (star fist so good that the script has to switch to iron ball or else the bleed messes it up and makes him do the scripted attack too early)

I think it's preference, I like iron balls moveset the most of any weapon so for RL1 that's my go-to but I think alabaster and greatswords are cool AF and I should use them more. Seems just as good
