Yes it's for a quest ||specifically Thiollier's quest. You need to drink from it and die 4 times once he is there, try and tell him and Trina's message twice then drink from it again. Beat his but in an invasion, then drink from it once more and tell him the other message|| Spoiler tag for obvious reasons

you just need to quit the game and reload it. That's what I had to do
