also you have a heavy load which causes you to "fat roll", you need to take some gear off. you started as the vagabond (i know those stats quite well lol). take off the halberd, you dont need it, that should drop you to medium load and give you a much better dodge roll

if you see fog on the ground and hear a voice then you did it right, she'll be sitting on a part of the broken wall of the church. she gives you the spirit calling bell and lone wolf ashes. you can now summon spirit ashes (only in certain areas, a glowy tombstone like symbol will appear on the right side)

roll speed is governed by your equip load. light load rolls fastest and farthest, medium load is decent and is what most players use. heavy is fat rolling and is bad. theres a 4th stat called "over encumbered" which is when you exceed your maximum equip load stat, cant even roll

be careful when you reach a bridge when you're very far south, its guarded by a ballista with explosive bolts and several soldiers

but weeping peninsula is across this bridge, theres a grace off to the right after crossing so you can get back easy if you decide to go somewhere else
