All good! You've been busy and tackling a lot of mod duty, don't sweat it! I got the Noble Slender Sword because it resembles her sword the most. I have bloodhound step since it is the closest thing to her teleport maneuver. I also use scholar's armament on the blade too.

EXACTLY! Funnily enough, my other character I beat the game with? Daggers. DAGGERS. I even PvP'd with them and have beaten numerous people with broken builds. I used dual Great Knife's. They're amazing for proccing status effects too. So I slapped on poison and frost on top of their innate bleed. All you have to do is be more aggressive; like fist weapons. It is doable. And I utterly enjoyed running them, even when I was stuck in a rut. I kept hacking at it. I even had someone tell me I was terrifying and the best dagger user they've seen; and I was just using them for FUN

She seems like she'd be really cool to learn. But I'm not here to play every boss legit. I'm here to do whatever makes me feel like a boss.

This is entirely fair. But malenia is one of those bosses where she seems intimidating but once you get the hang of it you can basically just beat her easily every time. If you focus on your basic attacks rather than your ashes of war you can still do a lot of damage in a much safer way that’ll leave you time to dodge attacks. It’s much more satisfying and I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it quickly.

Even if you do choose to use mimic or summon other players, that’s fine. But it’s so much more rewarding of an experience if you try to learn the boss instead of just ploughing through. It won’t take you 80 hours. It probably won’t even take 10.

It might help a little to explain how I got there.
Like I said, I started with Uchi and Naba. And her first phase isn't terrible.
But she almost always goes super agro after she gets out of the blossom. Like. She's only opted to go for regular attacks maybe like... 3 times at the start. But she almost always immediatly goes for the Blade dance. Which isn't terrible, but even if it nicks me, the scarlet rot will take care of me soon.

So I switched naba out with Rob, and I found that if all the hits landed as she was trying to do her blade dance, I could just knock her out of it.
So I figured, Why worry about dodging it if i can just cancel it?

But that wasn't enough of an advantage, because sometimes i misssed and failed, and if i fail to do that In 2nd phase, i am dead.

So I started using mimic tear and was playing regular at first until I noticed she was using the mimic for health.
But the damage we do together is crazy.

So the only reason I stared Spamming it was because I needed to keep her attention on me at all times so she wouldn't just heal herself.

It wasn't really my intention to barrel through her. I just kinda ended up there through trial and error and experimentation.

I do understand how you could get there, but I do recommend starting over and just trying to do her with just your basic attacks. You can incorporate AoWs and whatnot once you start to get the hang of her moveset. That's just my advice though. Good luck beating her

I need to see someone in front of me in my game to show me how to dodge her attacks.
I've watched LetMeSoloHer on a few different runs, and everytime she seems way more chill.
That's what I don't understand.
Maybe it's his positioning? But anytime i try to replicate it, It doesn't work because she seems way more aggresive with me than i've seen her been with other people.

For most people, when she goes into phase 2, she just flower blossums and then goes for standard attacks.
But she always starts with the waterfowl dance with me. I'm good at dodging the first two parts of it, but the 3rd is what tends to just barely nick me.

As for the duplication attack. I know how to dodge it, but i still can't do it for some reason. If I'm locked onto her, I can't see the duplications when they get close to me, and if I'm not locked on, then I mess up the camera angle and can't see anything at all.

I need to watch someone get her to phase 2 and then do nothing but dodge her attacks. Both on their screen, and from my perspective.
I think that would just give me a better idea of the positioning you need to take.

But that lady is way too aggressive compared to every other boss. I wouldn't say impossible, because it is clearly possible. But I do agree with the sentiments that her skill jump is very unfair.

I understand there is a whole demographic of people who just love the overwhelming competition. But I also agree there should be some sort of crutch.
Maybe you can go find an item that prevents her to even use the scarlet blossom.
Or they could give you an item that ensures she takes damage from her own scarlet rot in 2nd phase.

It would have been nice for them to add something other than summons to make HER fight specifically a little easier for people who don't want to take 100+ L's to learn.
Cause other dude was right, LetMeSoloHer had to die like 242 times before he mastered her.
Which is just kinda ridiculous.
No boss prerequisite should be 100+ deaths.
That's just asking for so many people to cheat and find easier alternative ways.

Because those are your choices.

You either die over a 100 times and get good.
Or you decide to remain composed in you sanity and just cheese her.
I'm not ashamed to admit I am the 2nd.

It could be positioning but I'm not really sure. She does seem a lot less agressive for me the less I use ashes of war. Also, if you're struggling with waterfowl dance, using bloodhound step can help. I'm not sure if they nerfed it to the point where it didn't help, but it can let you get the timing down pretty well.
