I’ve never made much art before, but I wanted to make an Elden Ring sketchbook with only black brush pens and gold/silver gel pens.

I told myself that getting better at art would be like progressing in Elden Ring with practice, and that inspired the theme!

Fia is my favorite NPC in the Roundtable Hold, so I tried her first.

I might switch the black brush pen out because I was only getting pretty thick lines, but I could probably have some more success if I was a bit more delicate.

Assets wise, Open3D for characters/environments and it's child sites, Sketchfab for free assets, and also Quixel Bridge considering that they are making a lot of their mega scans free until January. I found a photo I liked, I removed saturation to remove color, threw a grid on the picture, threw a grid on the paper, then used it as an inspiration going square by square until I had everything filled in. Then I went through and made things darker based on what felt right.

This is my first piece ever, so the set up was what allowed me to get things into proportion.
