Draw for fun. I'm not new to drawing but I only ever drew thus far to try and improve. I'd try, not meet my insane expectations, and then just not draw for months. Now, I am still at the same place of progression I was at years ago. Unsteady chicken scratch that looks like a child made it

In fact, just yesterday did I draw a buncha silly stuff I wanted to instead of doing drawing exercises to specifically to improve. It was ass, but that's to be expected. I don't draw enough to improve

Draw things you like. It's human nature to get better at things as you do them. May as well enjoy yourself while you do it!

For reference, this is.. meant to be Midra. I think it's good to disconnect your intelligence from your dexterity and artistic abilities. You're not stupid for drawing badly at first. Or drawing badly... ever. You just stop yourself from trying when you think like that

It does help though to enjoy learning in general tho. A general understanding of anatomy is a huge part of drawing if you like to draw people. Then there’s the importance of understanding shadows/lighting and how the environment affects the colors of your scene, assuming there is one. But, that’s enough ranting. I don’t even draw enough myself to be giving a lecture. So you could ignore all of this if you’d like 😄

It could sound a little bit idi0t but I think one of my problems that's that I'm not able to do sketch, I rush the final result directly, and when I do a sketch, it looks bad and not understandable opposite to someone who know what to draw and the sketch he does. And for the fun, I try to draw for fun but I am quickly discouraged. Sorry English is not my native language so some sentences could make no sense.

I have this same issue and is why I don’t draw very often. I rely a lot on being in the mood for a piece. Because when I’m not, I struggle to make something that fits what I visioned. But it’s like beastman said. Just draw for fun, don’t get discouraged because something didn’t turn out the way you wanted. Simply try and learn from the things you think you did wrong and use that knowledge for your next piece

I think that comparing yourself to other people is a bad way to go about art. You're drawing in the only way you know how. You're not filling the shoes of others. You don't have to do it how others do it. Just understand why they do it the way they do, and decide if it's useful to you. Or useful to do the opposite
