In departments of concept art and other stuff. Sure, for the final product companies might hire actual artists but all the concept art and early designs will probably just be done by AI in the future since its cheaper. But that doesnt make it better for people who work as artists and have their lifes depend on the income. Trashy mobile games are already using ai art to advertise their stuff so at what point will bigger developers start using it as well? ai art is getting better and better each day and that might be exciting from a coding or ai learning perspective its really fkin crushing to watch it as a learning artist

Ok I see where you’re coming from, however I think this is just another step in human evolution. We’ve seen situations like this happen constantly throughout history where one thing gets replaced for another. I doubt AI will ever fully replace artists because the human mind is able to come up with unique ideas that a machine can’t… without trying to sound mean I think only the mediocre artist will get booted out. If you’ve got a good art style or a knack for ideas… you’ll be fine

When you draw something, you use a mix of pre existing inspiration, and you’re own unique ideas. AI does not have any ideas because it is entirely probability based

I’m an artist who has made money on my own works plenty before and have never used AI for any of it; I don’t use it but I still acknowledge it as a tool just like the lasso, clone, and color-dropper tools in photoshop

We don’t get our ideas entirely from online. We get it from life experience. Which is completely different from person to person. That’s why it’s called expression. Each person will create art differently. You’re the only one that can put the exact image in your head onto a piece of paper. Ai can’t do that, but it can do something similar ig.

This is a unique aspect of you as an individual. Which will affect your art in a unique way. If you can’t hold a pen in a “normal” way, then find a way that’s comfortable for you. Everyone is able to make art

to do that no only would they need to save every image they were ever trained on in a model (witch would make the model so massive it would not be able to be run on anything short of massive memory drives)

but you would also not run in to mistakes like too many fingers or text that means nothing.

there was a spreadsheet submitted as evidence that proved they allowed their system to profit of other artists intellectual property. the case is as plan as day. they lifted copyrighted images so to train their software

trained =/= the new image is stiched together

that is the crux of the argument. the one we are having and the one that is being legaly debated in the courts right now.

the crux is if training a machine of a persons art nessitates their consent. does a new artist need to ask permission to use your art to train themselves and get better? even if the new artist uses the exact same style as you them making new stuff off the trianing they did with your work.

none of the original intellectual property work is contained in the trainig model.

yes they used copyrighted images but there is nothing in the law that says those images can not be used as training data. and the prescient set by humans is that using an image for inspiration or even tracings an image (there are real life comic artists that just trace real life people and change things like hair) then why does it not hold the same for a machine ?

just look at actually chainmail and like, simplify it a lot, focus on the lighting of it and just sort of the angles. oh, if it's really zoomed in then just look at chainmail, draw the chainmail lol, but like in the shadows you can sorta just blur and scribble it out, so good to have just a small portion that's actually detailed. work smarter not harder with textures and detailing, plus it'll look better because our eyes don't like when everything is equally detailed and busy.

you draw armor a lot, so it'll definitely benefit you to do some studies of it.
