Yeah I was just trying to hit the right vibes when it comes to a souls character, I wanted that sibling feeling that D’s armour set was centred on but actually have it so there’s two beings sharing the same body. I was looking at bulk souls references for this character and the pursuer was a heavy influence plus the banished armour set mixing the two to hopefully get a cool looking helmet, gonna change the skull cap of the helm to appear more wolf like instead of human 😅

Setting conniving traps and patiently waiting for those who would take the bait, his own hubris drove his misguided sense of purpose. He'd kill the fools who fell for his tricks by proxy, letting them slowly die with the dread of an impending death weighing down their eyelids. He was akin to a flytrap digesting its prey cell by cell. However, one lowly tarnished who fell for his tricks defied this fatal ultimatum he set. As he watched them rot, it seemed as their youth would begin to come back. He waited, and waited, and waited, yet never would the man die. This gave him time. This gave him boredom. This gave him anger, as they took the reigns of fate from his hands and held them tight, refusing to offer them back. Such a pathetic creature had robbed him of his results. He left soon, defeated and annoyed. He resided in the corners of the manor, brooding in his own mediocrity. What was he to do? He finally thought to himself rather than others. It seemed as though every other man had a path, a destiny, a fate. What was his? As his contemporaries slayed demigods and brought about empires, he stole the lives of those who would. For what purpose does this serve? Was he a mediator? Was his purpose to prevent? Was he great? He thought. Maybe greed wasn't as bad as he gave it the power to be. Maybe, just maybe, he could long for more too. The bloodstained envelopes of the manor gave him a path to something more. Rykard would soon know this name. His bloodied spear and scratched shield served simply as proof of his hunger that he had suppressed for so long. He was called to the antechamber at once, to speak with the devourer. Ah, the epitome of greed: unity. He bowed before his sword, and wished to be part of the serpent's family. A part of something more.

Rykard sensed his hunger. He felt the deep pits within his ego; the dark voids longing for light. He was greedy. He was perverse and lustful for power. He wanted nothing more than to strip himself of his asceticism. Rykard unhinged his jaw and laid his gaping maw before Patches, welcoming him. Patches laid down his spear and assimilated into the family, possessed to move by his hunger like a starving dog. His blood soon became one with the demigod's. He sensed all he had, and became one of the thousand reaching arms on Rykard's blade. A great asset he would prove to be for the devourer, as he granted him something the serpent had not once had. He fed the snake, and thus indulged in his identity. He finally found his answer. His greed wasn't to be condemned, but to be fulfilled. And as the unknowing tarnished treaded among the colorful stones to the edge of the cliff, the snakes mouth drew open once again. Let their avarice flow, let their curiosity defeat them, and let them be welcomed to our family.
