I use Manjaro (Arch) with KDE GUI for "home PC" aka "media center".
Media - runs perfectly.
Gaming - Steam proton just works.

To me Manjaro is as easy as windows if not easier to get into.

to start there is no more CSGO, but CS2 (formally). All anti-cheat software also works through proton.
E:g. CS2 runs on steam deck.

Also half the time a game doesn't work and all my friends were playing while I wasted time finding how to make games work. Linux is great for tons of things, I use it at work, but for home use I'd rather hace windows were everything works. Don't try to turn me into Linux, I've been using it for work since 2008 or so.

Yeah. I gave Linux by best shot yet this year after Windows 10 end of support was announced. Stuff installed broken from the software center, I couldn't find a DE that I could tolerate, and I ended up spending several weekends trying to get stuff working rather than working with stuff that just worked like they're supposed to.

As a Windows user since forever, I will say that I found Arch to be much better than Mint or Ubuntu when I tried them. Most of the good experiences I had while trying Linux this time around was due to Arch, the Arch wiki, or the AUR.

Yeah, that sums it up. Linux is great, but you have to really like to tinker with it, people who love Linux love tinkering with it.

I have very limited free time when I have big projects at work, and I need my gaming pc to work with the least amount of clicks and wasted time possible (same reason I got a ps5), and windows gives me that with games. I wouldn't use windows for any other use case, my home server runs CentOS and it doesn't even have a GUI. I don't really like to tinker with the OS much, I just want things to work seamlessly, and for gaming Linux can't give you that

The canon ending is always the base ending in a game, the rest is up to your own preferences for roleplay usually, at least it was like that for every people I knew personally who chose an ending or another (or purely to get the achievements). You mend back Marika and you free everyone from not dying, so people can actually die now. Maybe after Marika takes out her own life as well, Malenia is supposed to still live after you "felled" her, so normally, she's the only empyrean you'd be able to marry with. Unless the new Elden Lord is reshaping the whole damn thing since he can beat down the Elden Beast he can whatever he wants lulz

According to that might as well Malenia be the one who wants to claim the lands between for herself, since there's only the elden lord who holds everything together, but there's also a issue with many canon characters that actually died, so the whole story would be either boring or should be taken to completely other "Land", the manga is not canon at all, but they talk there about Okina coming from the "Lands of far east" or something like that, meaning that there is (obviously) much more of the "whole planet", so there's a chance for a new story, but it will start with completely new lore and name.

This is the Land of Reeds and Okina comes from that place yes, that part is canon, anything weebish related is from the Land of Reeds. But Malenia can't claim the Lands Between for herself since the Tarnished proved himself stronger than her. Canonically most of the NPC's living which makes sense for the player to keep are Boc, Sellen, Roderika, Nepheli and Hewg, even though the latter seem to be wishing to die. Those NPC's are the only ones who tends to you in their own ways. They are ready to serve you, and though it'll be fun to have Boc as the seam master, Renalla is in need of therapy and only Sellen can maintain the whole in your name, and she ows you too. Nepheli is a warrior and a ruler and her oath means all. Roderika and Hewg are craftmasters and you'll be content with that. Malenia just helps for more legitimacy, she can taken down anytime even when she'll realise you have killed for good the Miquellester and bested Radahn twice. Ranni can't be your spouse because her ending is not the "canon ending".
