i think he is hard, see from my perspective i dont think things should be changed because they are hard, only if they out right dont work (such as camera, bad hitboxes etc.) final boss kicked my teeth in the first dozen or so attempts but at least in my eyes that dosent earn it a nerf.

I agree 100%, the issue I think comes in if the difficulty isn't subvertable, like if all the moves can be dodged reliably with med roll I think it's mostly fine even if it's as fast and precise as it is, but some moves I literally have not seen people fully avoid without bloodhound step which imo is poor design personally, could be a me thing tho

i always midroll personally (i like wearing heavier armour bc ik im gonna get hit) it definatly took some gotting used to the timing as its pretty slim but from what i can tell you can dodge all of his attacks, for most of the sweeps just continuously rolling into works wonders lol

it did take me over 20 attempts to get the win so much practice is needed for sure, its not easy

he had really high stance from my experience, was using a charged R2 build with the Meteoric Ore Greatsword (used a couple others before it but switched to this since I was hoping to stance break him) but I only wound up breaking his stance twice, bear in mind this was with axe talisman, spiked tear, and a free charged R2 every gravity opening, as well as occasionally if he did the double chop or Lion's Claw as well as it's just barely safe on those moves

everything else was an R1, rolling R1, or jump R2 and I still only managed two stance breaks, idk how his effective stance was that high

yh he does have pretty high stance, how many stance braks you get depends on how consistently your hitting him tooo, if you dont hit a boss for a few seconds (i think 5 or 6) its stance resets, so you have to build it up again

at least i think thats how irt works but yea i only got 1 stance break on him, got 2 bleeds tho so thats nice

yes I know his stance decays but usually the higher the boss' stance the slower it decays, for example Elden Beast has something like 120 stance but it decays super slow to compensate, whereas Margit is like 30 but it regenerates super fast as a result, I forget the exact values but you get the point, I honestly think the final boss might be high stance and high decay speed, bc all of the videos I've seen have been similar in that regard as well, it might just be a skill issue and I wasn't hitting him enough but annecdotally and from what I've been hearing from other players as well it seems like my experience isn't unique in this regard

I believe Malenia got nerfed in the day one patch iirc, honestly like I said I think the final boss is fine as long as you can avoid all the attacks with med roll (which although it is difficult at first Waterfowl is avoidable like this which is why it's different, people at first only complained bc it seemed impossible to avoid), if it turns out you can consistently dodge all of final boss' attacks with med roll I think it's fine, even if maybe a little too hard for casuals or first timers
