even if he’s easy it’s pretty satisfying to dodge his attacks and jump his earthquakes, the cutscene’s cool, the phase transition is awesome, and it’s very satisfying seeing how much you can destroy him when he does the sweeping attack, if you find him too easy do region lock so you don’t have a +10 somber weapon by the time you fight him

i think godrick is harder than margit but if you scaled them to the same lvl then margit is harder atleast for me on my first play through or i’m just misremembering

I’ve always personally found Godrick easier even at the same rune level but they’re both obviously not even on the slider for the most part

it’s fairly easy to do them at the same level too assuming you speedrun through the main gate instead of going the long way around

lmao where you heard this ? the zweihander was a sword used mostly by landsknecht (deutschs and swiss mercenaries ) it is a relatively "light" longsword, between 3 and 5kg and dont be fooled by the lenght it can be fast, also the main use of these longswords was to cut off the spikes off the lances while keeping a good distance, so no zwei were actual functionnal LS, but like every weapon ever there sure were some ornamental ones, but that is wrong to say they were only to show off (especially when knights didnt used zweis [they did use longswords but not much and montantes])
Also I am no expert so take it with a grain o salt, some say the pikes head cutting were a military myth

Zweilanders and two handed swords in general usually have faster follow ups than one handed weapons, since you have better leverage with two hands, and can dish out quick and varied follow up strikes.

Of course someone is likely gonna shoot a trespasser first if they wake up to find either a stranger or a known person with bad intentions in their house or property. Not gonna take the chance of saying "Hey you!" and getting shot by the trespasser (most break ins happen at night and it's not exactly easy to see if they've got a handgun in one of the hands in the middle of the night from a distance of even across the room)

that’s the issue tho, sometimes people do get arrested for shooting trespassers if there’s no sign of struggle etc., if there’s evidence it was justified usually you’re okay; but sometimes it isn’t the case, hence the sentiment above

In states with castle doctrone it is determined that because you don't know the intent of the trespasser, and if they wish to shoot you hesitation could kill you, you can shoot or otherwise use lethal force to deter people who break into your house. Some states like Texas extend this to your entire property, not just your house.

Other places like New York you need to show they were armed and you couldnt get away, as there is no castle doctrine there. In those places far more people get killed by intruders...

the only build I've done that was particularly difficult with malenia was a crit build. Malenia's weird in that half her attacks give her hyperarmor, if you happen to get critical poise damage during hyper-armor it resets, and her attacks react to your actions. This means that half the time you go for a stunning hit she reacts with some hyperarmor attack

granted, some crit builds have it easier then others. int crit makes it super easy, parry builds are pretty good since her attacks are mostly easy to read, but str crit not so much.

Parry builds are kind of awful for Malenia since you have to get 3 parries per riposte and she has a fair few unparriable attacks she can spam out making the fight take way longer than the average build, honestly Malenia isn’t too bad with any build provided you have at least enough vigor and damage negation to comfortably survive partial hits on all of her super deadly attacks, but even then she’s pretty shaky for the majority of players

it takes 3 parries for pretty much every boss in the game. Malenia is Imo much easier to parry then most bosses since the majority of her attacks can be parried (a lot of bosses have much fewer parryable attacks). Also, there aren't really any delayed attacks that mess with timing. Parrying is hard in general, but compared to how it fairs at the rest of the game it's pretty good for malenia.

I would also mention that while her hyper armoring your staggers with colossal weapons is really annoying, in my and most other player’s experience (it’s what a few souls content creators even recommend you do if you struggle with her on your first attempt with a str build and don’t want to drastically change your build) jump attack spam with colossal swords like Radahn’s Scarscourge Greatswords is actually very effective at dealing with her due to your higher damage, although it may not be as effective as say Blasphemous Blade or RoB, colossal weapons are still very solid against Malenia provided you spam jump attacks with decent hp and damage negation (in regards to your previous comment I mean, honestly she’s doable with any build as seen with RL1 +0 runs but obviously this about casual playthroughs)

jump attack builds are alright, as far as they go I've found lightning katanas (dragonscale+lightning uchi w/ lightning slash) to be the best in that regard, with heavier builds being worse due to longer delays between moves. Worst build I ever had for malenia was pure bow cause she just dodges half of your shots. Easiest was probably SoNaF, blasphemous blade, or int spell spam. I never tried RoB before the nerf, but I can only assume it's broken

Even after nerf it’s still busted, WA still stun locks phase 1, bleeds a ton, and the WA does pure fire damage which she’s weak to, aside from Blasph which is probably the best overall against her, the only thing I could think of being stronger is probably a flaming stroke nagakiba paired with another chilling mist nagakiba for double buffs and extra range, although Dragonscale Blade is always excellent in that regard, one for frost and one for fire for her weakness to it and frost resetting, as well as dual bleed

Dragonscale + RoB would be probably pretty fantastic for the above reason as well to be fair, could save Corpse Piler for wider openings while keeping the regular roll and jump L1’s with buffed Dragonscale and RoB to reset frost with its fire damage for everything else and probably do really good damage at high dex

oh yeah I mentioned them earlier, they’re really good for her esp with claw talisman and raptor’s black feathers jump attack spam, staggers her like crazy and does tons of damage

you either trade on her weaker attacks, or more preferably, wait for the ones that have slightly longer recovery time, outspace them, and immediately jump l1 to stagger her with the jump attack, giving you enough time to get out before she can hit you back

you also do a ton of stance damage like that, meaning not only does she stagger on most attacks where she doesn’t go straight into her hyper armor kick, you also get lots of poise breaks for ripostes

but yeah needless to say Starscourge GS is really good on her, one of the better colossals for her imo

Waves of Darkness isn’t bad, you can make it really solid in PvP since most people don’t see it coming, I’d recommend it especially on a cold Zweihander so each hit of the waves builds frost, but in PvE stuff like Gravitas, Onyx Lord’s Repulsion (can be okay in invasions with ledges), Starcaller Cry, and Alabastor Lord’s Pull are pretty awful yeah

if you want an actually good Str/Int colossal with a good Ash of War Ruins Greatsword’s Wave of Destruction is actually really good as a ranged option and scales fairly well with weapon upgrade level and strength, Fallingstar Beast Jaw’s Gravity Bolt is decent as well but it’s stance damage got super nerfed a couple patches ago

also, although it still has a bad Ash of War, the Meteoric Ore Blade has one of my favorite movesets for a weapon in general and is strength int, it’s charge R2 is super fast and does a ton of stance damage, so if you want to make a charge attack build with it you can get it going super fast with the physic tear and talisman super early and it’s really good for the whole game

so you should definitely give that a try if you’ve been looking for a stronger str/int weapon for a new playthrough or something if you were disappointed with Starscourge GS

I think I liked DS3 the most but that's probably because it was the most solid mechanically (objectively) and gameplay-wise (subjectively). It wasn't the most interesting one, but I sure as hell had hundreds of hours of fun in co-op. DS1 I've played the first, so it'll always have a special place in my heart, and it's probably the most atmospheric of the 3, but replaying it always feels jarring because of how many quality of life improvements it's missing from the later titles, and overall how much more janky and unpolished it is. DS2 is probably the most interesting of the 3, as it has the most cryptic and obscure mechanics, secrets, online interactions and in general it just feels very experimental and different from the other 2, which is honestly refreshing. It's my least favourite, but that is not to say that I dislike it.

I wish they kept some online stuff from DS1 and 2, it honestly felt really unique and cool. Like the system where if you drop an item it can get transported into another player's world, or how using miracles would leave a visible mark for other players. Very inconsequential and minor stuff, but made the game feel so much more quirky and alive.
