Your "Ranni alone controls Blaidd" idea doesn't work with the information we're given. It wouldn't explain Blaidd going mad and Iji's explanation of it.

Funny enough I'm actually trying to collect absolutely everything in the game myself. Aside from rememberance stuff I already have all the spells and incants, all the talismans, and almost all the armaments (except for the Gravel Seal, you can lock yourself out of that one). The last shield I'm trying to find is a greatshield that drops from the undead guys in Nokram.
