the bosses are more forgiving and same for its areas
you can literally get 10 estus flasks from the beginning by just resting at a kindled bonfire
to get 10 flask of crimson tears, you can only get that in late game
now some might argue that you can get more overpowered due to the open world nature of the game
well, to be honest that runs out eventually in late game where you need to actually be skilled instead
you can also get overpowered in dark souls
if we are talking about ds1 then
you can get black knight halberd for strength build, great scythe for dexterity, sorcery build is just broken in general

both are buffs, but both apply to different "parts" of you so they can overlap but this isnt explained

you can tell from the name that they buff you in some way, but it doesn't explain how it buffs you

FGMS provides physical resistance and extra flame damage, but unless you paid close attention to your damage numbers and conveniently used fire damage you'd never know, 10% physical reduction is also pretty small and because you dont have damage numbers when you get hit you can't really precisely measure the difference

while yes, I think people should at least give an honest attempt at a boss before using mimic tear, I usually aim for 10-15 tries before I decide to use mimic tear.

there is no point softlocking myself because I am being stubborn and refuse to use mimic tear, I gave an honest attempt and I simply can't learn the boss so im going to continue on with the game
