2. He contemplates killing everyone. Thanos knew that he would only need to do what he was planning to do, as to not upset the natural balance of the universe. New thanos’ plan involved destroying everything, but then how would he manage a whole new universe? (This is also see when he opens fire on his own troops, as he underestimates the numbers he needs to win and be successful in his goal).
3. Original Thanos knew that it wasn’t permanent. His idea was to teach the universe a lesson in resource management. His goal was never to destroy, it was to re-educate life about how to live.
