if one player could do 5k damage in one hit, he’d only have to hit PCR 10 times with his 45k health, whereas in multiplayer if you still did 5k damage, it’d be reduced to 2.5k because of the 50% defense increase, and then each player would have to hit him 40 times each to reach the 100k health

My math is probably not that accurate but eh, it’s considerably much more work regardless
