I used to read and re-read the Silmarillion like it was a Bible back when I was 12
My devotion towards Tolkien's work used to be far more acute in the past
Even then, it's hard for those acquainted with Tolkien's work not to recognize one of the most tragic and beloved characters in the entire Silmarillion and his legendarium as a whole at first glance
Things would be different for relatively more obscure characters like, idk, Tuor who is sorta just in the middle of Húrin's line between Túrin and Eärendil
still, isn't it heartwarming that so many more people than you expected could recognize that reference? it reminds me that I'm not alone in the world with my hyperfixations, kind of like an unspoken, intangible sense of connection with so many fans of Tolkien's work I don't even know and most likely will never be able to meet. It's a somewhat bittersweet sensation to be sure, but it still brings hope to my heart these days
