#Remote hardware interface

Hello, I’m new here and have a bit of a project I'd like to explore if it is even possible.

I'm an Electrical engineer with a Ham license so RF is not new to me but lora/mesh communication is. I know the basics and know that I "can" use a mesh for what I'd like to do. I just don’t know if it is worth putting the time into.

I have some remote hardware at work that I'd like to be able to communicate with to get basic telemetry from and send basic commands to. I think the RAK WisBlock might be a good option for either end of this link. I would have ethernet/Wi-Fi available at the source location for external connectivity as well as a Ras-PI or PC to aggregate the telemetry and initiate commands. I'd also need some solar powered relays along the way as LOS is an issue for some of the end devices. The end devices natively support serial and ethernet comms with the intend that they either be wired in directly or relayed via direct network radio link.

As a side benefit, I might add mesh devices to our small fleet of vehicles to be able to track them as they traverse our VERY rural coverage area. No normal radio or cell coverage in most of our coverage area. We have satellite radios for voice coms.

Currently I have a pair of Heltec V3's to play with but I’m open to any suggestions y'all may have.
