A lot of people ask where they can pick them
Up, so I finally got them listed and approved for sale on Amazon.

If there is interest Iโ€™ll get the 2.4Ghz antenna listed as well.

@spare hatch Looks like an error in your listing. Description says RP-SMA but the image is SMA.

Did the 915 sell out?

spare hatch
#

no they should be in stock!

@jaunty ridge so Amazon is doing their little thing where unless you're an FBA seller, they hide the actual "Buy it now" link... aka they want me to pay $500+ per month, to stock antennas on a pallet in THEIR warehouse, otherwise they hide my "buy it now" behind a second button that needs to be pressed... kinda scummy but that's amazon for ya.

Anyway here's how you order -

#

you have to click "See all buying options" and you'll see the Buy Now link in there.

Ah, thanks for that!

Have you tested the gain of these? Both antennas are listed as the same length and 4dBm (either dB or dBi are the standard measurements used btw. dBm is usually used when measuring the output power of a transmitter)

Can't trust 99% of db claims with antennas and there's no affordable accurate testing. Just have to bite the bullet and give them a try.

I will submit yet another request to fix.

# hard dust That's why I asked the question. I already know the answer is they both can't po...

correct, and thank you for pointing it out. in fact it's supposed to be 3.5dBi 915Mhz but it keeps adding that other junk. I'm going to submit yet another review for the title. if you scroll up, the first link even had the "RP-SMA" part which was inaccurate someone pointed out. To be fair, this is my first time selling on Amazon, I've only ever sold on Tindie, Etsy and Square in the past... so I'm still trying to get the ins-and-outs of amazon's listing tool

#

it's this nonsense -

it looks for "similar products" that share similar specs etc, and combines them together... heh

spare hatch
#

sadly it's up to the amazon gods yet again

#

lol

#

note the comment on the bottom

#

"your RECCOMENDATION"

#

yeah, i'm the seller yet amazon knows "better than me"

#

lol

spare hatch
#

@hard dust curious - do you think there'd be any interest if I was able to stock / sell these:

#

they're 9.5dBi 915Mhz

#

N connector, fiberglass, roughly 40" long

#

I have one that I picked up as a sample that I was gonna pop on my VNA and do some testing on

#

also going to mount that on on the roof here for the repeater ๐Ÿ™‚

All depends on the price. And how well they are tuned. Antennas are plentiful and cheap now. Especially with all the helium stuff that people are selling. For a business to succeed it has to offer value of some kind that is better than it's competitors. So either quality or price in this case.

Going on a wild guess that it's probably similar/same design that most other resellers are selling. So then that just leaves you with price being the competitive edge. It's a race to the bottom between you and China.

I'm not saying there isn't any money to be made there. Just that it's not where I would focus business efforts

#

For what some of the people sell those for on Amazon I can't believe they hardly make any money on them after they pay to ship it and pay the Amazon fees and taxes on their profits

spare hatch
#

so I figured i'd look into what other antennas I could possibly offer if there was a want / need

hard dust
#

Yeah I mean if you can get them cheap enough for it to be worth it for you to sell them and they are decent quality so you don't end up wasting time dealing with returns then go for it

spare hatch
#

yeah, my main goal was to take some of the guesswork out of it, to the point pdxlocs mentioned above how you have to just "bite the bullet" as I focus only on stocking the higher-quality known good antennas, and leave the guesswork to alibaba etc.

#

if that makes sense

#

anyway i'm off to sleep for now ๐Ÿ˜› thanks again for pointing out the title. glad I was able to at least get it submitted for review once again

oops, I listed it as 868/915 on the antennas page. This should be 915 only I assume.

spare hatch
#

correct, it is tuned for 915

#

868 does have decent performance IIRC. i'd have to double-check it. but it is focused on 915
