we had a system similar to the one you're suggesting actually, unfortunately the person who did the /giconclude would end up forgetting the 2nd step to confirm and thus might leave the round to time-out; meaning it'd be more work to do for prelim verifying

we also had a system where we would require players to submit screenshots of their final move during conclusion, but with match replay, that ended up being unnecessary

is it true that match results are only cross-checked with HoYoverse servers after prelims?

because otherwise we could have had an automated preliminary result check in the background

i don't run the bot personally so that'll be something i can ask the organizers about but for the most part, the matches that are cancelled or are reported to us via qixing are our main priority to adjust

it's a lot of reports to deal with frankly speaking, so we do need a few days after prelims is over to go through it all

by the way, about this part: I think it would be fine to have a periodical reminder ping to players

I know this is a bit on the annoying side, but this is probably important enough to deserve a nag

In my mind, if both people need to declare Win/Lose, then we don't really need the Confirm button, since the confirmation is the other person declaring. If there is a conflict (both W or both L), the room gets 1 chance to do that again. If there is still a conflict after 2nd chance then whoever declares it wrong get a strike during verification. If there is no conflict but both declare wrong then both get a strike during verification.

Personally I feel that the Confirm button is way easier to mess up than having to declare Win/Lose, since the latter is more work.

But of course, either way, the main thing is that both people getting a strike for an honest mistake that both report immediately is kinda harsh imo

for transparency btw, for the match where you/your opponent didn't submit the correct result, you both may get a strike just so we can be consistent with our policies and other judgements we've made
as i mentioned, strikes do get reset at the end of the season so i wouldn't be too worried about it and we'll see what we can do with your feedback in the meantime

But yeah, maintaining consistency is more important. Ideally there is a policy change affecting everyone even from this season, but it's fine either way
