I would say it really depends but you have pretty good odds

Stall can't magic dice early + you need to spend dice for stuff like tenacity and ramp too

You can setup big round and just wipe them out

But overally Sayu cooks stall, it's better matchup for Sayu player than stall player

starting hand: getting arcane is 100% so every other card has 1:29 chance of showing up now (counting as if each card would be different, no doubles, but that’s most likely not gonna happen as most decks have two of each card, or at least most of them, so each deck would be calculated based on its cards. Which makes it impossible to count the number bc every deck is different and some have doubles of each some have singles… although 1:29 is around 3,45% so if someone wants to draw Gilded, and has two of them, the chance is actually around 6,90%)

Well I can care about the game and have my objections against its development simultaneously. It doesn't exclude each other. Yes I do care about the game and I do want to believe that they will make my experience better. But as far as trust goes on this. I got disappointed more than once, more than twice on that matter (that instead of making ballance better, they IMHO actually made it worse and some changes felt like no one ever tried them in actual game before releasing. Like Underwater treasure for example). So despite my faith still being alive, I also have my fair share of doubts based on them fricking the ballance up. Let us see where that will take us. I just would love to see casual TCG gaming (not dependent on meta) being in balance with meta gaming or at least not disappearing (almost) completely from existence due to meta being abundant, easy and incomparable to casual decks. I want to have fun with more than three or five meta cards :3

I haven't been able to attend prev tournaments bc of life being busy and stuff but has anything changed in this years rules compared to last year? Thanks✨

I'd assume you haven't played since the end of 2023 S3; here's what has changed since then:

• You can earn Primogems for every win in the Preliminary Stage; Welkin raffle has been scaled down and moved to the end-of-season survey (now requires only 1 game played)
• Winning 3 games in the Preliminary Stage now rewards you with a tournament-exclusive card back in-game
• Matchmaking system is more skill-based (as opposed to totally random)
• Preliminary Stage is now more than a week long: still +5 games/day quota and 35-game cap, but you get a few more days to complete all 35 games
• CTG Leaderboard (#cats-tail-leaderboard): earn points toward qualification for Serious Showdown - the qualifier for The Prince Cup, the highest level of competitive play (1 point for completing all 35 games of the Preliminary Stage, more points for reaching top 32 and Knockouts)
• Knockouts now adopts a closed-list per-character Conquest format: you can only win with each Character Card once

The approach is of course valid. And it is not like people sad from losing do not know that they are losing nothing. It is their emotional part taking priority over their wisdom, thus they get sad because they lost. It is a little unhealthy way to approach playing competetive game, I agree with that. That is why I am trying to boost wisdom part of critical section of losing. That being said I am still kinda sensitive and emotional human, thus emotions play bigger part in my life and will always play. But one of the reasons I am playing in CTG is to train myself in exactly that 🙂

So yeah I get it that you find it slightly... ridiculous that someone gets sad from losing. But it does sometimes happen to people prone to that and it is not invalid either. It is just them growing more of a shell against that. And it of course is not winner's fault either :3

Yes, current editions seems to be harder than in previous patches if you don't play one of the few top performing decks, but even without them you still can have decent result if you play good, practise a bit before and are lucky to the opponents that you will be matched with.

Anyway, some players are really nice and atmosphere of competition is also much different than usual playing so it's worth to try for sure

AAA is not very formal clan, more like a friend group, I was invited though, not the one who came up with the idea. But it's great place to be in, I'm happy that I joined.

And in the tournament you will have a possibility to see how good you actually are and how can you improve as well if needed, most of us used to lose a lot at the very beginning.

This season is really quiet mostly because people are tired

A few patches ago I was still able to win with my favourite non-meta decks when I played well and wasn’t unlucky, even against meta decks. But now they ramped the meta/powercreep to a totally different level. When I played my first few games after the start of this patch I was so shocked, I couldn’t believe that they would release such op cards… I was already confused when they didn’t nerf the crab, but now even it isn’t good enough anymore 🥲

I watched Zen‘s videos about his matches for the current tournament and it was all just Kaveh or the Beasts, it’s honestly crazy. He also met one non-meta deck, but that was pretty much it I think 👀

It is! Or at least it was, but against the new cards you have no chance xD You need some time to ramp with crab and give your other characters tenacity for him to absorb, but that’s not possible when Kaveh, that giant anemo worm or Yunjin can just one shot everyone…
