still technically in top 16 somehow given I'm sharing the last spot with that guy
also how is it decided who's gonna be higher and lower given the score is the same?
last finished match
and what happens if this continues until 35/35?
shouldn't there be anything that'd distinguish me from them?
it's always according to this
Q14. How is the ranking for the Preliminary Phase calculated?
Score > EXP > Strikes (the lower the better) > Win rate > Last played match (the earlier the better) > Registration date (the earlier the better)
How's your games so far?
it's wild that the last played match and registration date affects the placements, but not personal score against one another
how would personal score even work
ctg tries to measure your power by sampling a relatively large number of random games. i dont think your match result against one person should decide your placement :yaethunk:
opponent average win% would be a very good metric yea
if you're sharing the same score with someone - the system would look if there are any past matches on this tournament where you've played with them, and takes them into account if possible
that would be the most fair way of doing things imo
the only problem would be if you've played twice
and the record is 1-1
if the matchmaking wasnt random it'd be fine. but currently it wouldnt be fair. imagine placing lower because you didnt get lucky enough to be matched with opps with high wr :yaethunk:
imo it's fine as-is where opp wr is indirectly taken into account due to how the mm works
tho it's not like we know how exactly it works so there's prolly room for improvement there
what if you didnt match with them before :ayawah:
look for more fair criterias ig, because registration date and last match played certainly do not sound like something that makes your performance over someone better
or should* shall I say
registration date is a bit silly i agree, tho it almost never matters so it's prolly not that bad (it only matters if two players' 35th matches are against each other and they end up with the same score)
but hmge last match played :yaethunk:
i guess it kinda disfavours stall players, and as one i'm affected :ayawah:
but i also cant come up with a better measure
it should be something that's in your control
and not up to luck
personal record, or how many leaderboard players have you won against
but the whole mm involves luck anyway ayawah
certainly sounds more fair even though the second one can also somewhat bring a natural disadvantage and a random factor
but it's more acceptable than having last match played affecting your placements during a tie
that arises a similar issue tho #1072075265330642954 message
why would it be my fault that i got "unlucky" and didnt get to play with lb players
let alone registration date
yeah but at the same time if the opponent has easier time getting on the leaderboard because they were matched against "weaker" players - shouldn't they also be considered lucky, in a way?
so this ayawah

it's kinda too early to complain though, there's still 2 days ahead
thay being said it should still get reworked imo
i guess so, but again, the player had no influence in that; they didnt choose to get lucky
true
also even if we somehow ended up with a perfect matchmaking system, the tcg game itself is also luck-based

so idk
the thesis statements seem to be "we must eliminate the effects of luck on the lb placement as far as possible, even if certain luck is inherent and cant be removed" and "certain luck is already inherent, so utilizing some more luck for what we perceive to result in a fairer lb placement is justifiable"
If we get matched with higher wr then we also have higher chance of losing
For me I prefer playing against 0% wr (not because they just played but because they keep losing) than players with 100% wr
If all matches are against 0% winrate it's pretty much guaranted to be on leaderboard
True

Hence why i just propose a elo ladder 🤔
Then all this someone else got easy opponent stuff will go out the window
I also think calculating exp is weird
Like players with 25-0 are certainly better than players with 24-10
Although in practice it doesn't really matter
Hence elo ladder!
You dont have to spam games if you just win a lot
Its actually just better in every way frfr
i think that's a bit problematic. it encourages avoiding playing to protect your score
i think it's good that ctg practically forces you to play all your games if you wanna score high
I think they should make a rule not to cancel the game
Cancel = lose
If they are busy after queueing, they shouldn't accept the matching, after both accept matching they can't cancel it
i mean they do give you a loss if it's apparent that you're cancelling to avoid losing
Or maybe make it possible for both players to schedule next time when they both can play, so they still need to play, but just delayed

Q10 in faq
wait not that
iirc there used to be a sentence that read "the room will be investigated after cancellation"
cant find it now but there's this at least #1072075497523126312 message

but yeah i do agree that the rules for "cancelling just because" need to be clearer
today is a good day to throw
Every day of this season was good to throw, it seems
ok i'm kinda cooking rn
please don't throw last 2 games
what are those constant match cancels
is someone win trading or what
People just be people
naurr
+1 lose
can't do much when opponent plays 2 operas round 1 and keeps triggering them
It is what it is at that point
takti sorry for the higroll
Oh, you don't need to apologise. I'm just playing for primos atm and didn't wanna mess up your WR
and now i'm playing rnx with the word starting hand possible
it's joever
no gamblers turn 3 too

meanwhile
Ningg big E at 6dmg truust
highrollers
man
these 2 last loses were so undeserved
they were making so many mistakes but got away with it because they just have everything ready in their hand and no need for dice fixing
Don't worry, you probably won't end up as I did 😄 (0-5)
there go my chances
unless i make a perfect run tomorrow and people on leaderboard will lose
which is highly unlikely
ffs spent 1hr on a game just to draw
Verified stall mirror moment
ugh I had a game like that yesterday
they had barbara, kokomi and ningguang with 3 general's helmets
I won in the end because Noelle is the superior slow deck but it was only after I had drawn all my cards
In term of stall decks Ning is the superior one
You only won coz you played better than your opponent
They had the advantage
🫂
yeah on round 14 they only had Dehya left i had Ning burst ready to kill but i got frozen, i should of been more agressive. It was a Layla/ Dehya/ Kokomi deck
at least we get our primogems
I do think my deck was better but mostly because I had better cards
Imma switch things up
why not Layla/Babala/XQ?
seems better on paper
🫡 gl

Behold, the last time I'll be on LB this season

gg's
I I have some lost matches but I'm playing for the cardback and tie primos
gg @tough dock u never playedagainst my deck ?
can you confirm, i have many times
confirmed, u let me stack beidou so thatswhy
I knew what you was going to play, I just didn't get your Razor down enough
is finaly good against mew ?
I hear yes, but idk personnaly I never play FiNaLy
because isaw somany mew

yes because finaly often runs joyous
and also because overload reaction itself is good against it
MEW just runs pretty low defencive options rn
13-1 I need to catch up quickk
it's not only me who faced so many metadeck
Dude no way my sauce spread to Europe
@dire crow check this out
had "at the speed of light" playing in my head for a moment
actual brainrot

Oh nice
also I guess I am in the Europe thread now
does it contain Vererans? cuz that shii what they did in the game was toxic with Dehya Veterans
yes
i got rid of clam tho
I lost to that deck actually, so annoying to face if you play stall into it
What-
7 loss
And also, only 3 people have 30matchs so
Wait
But yeah EU and loss is a love story
btw i had a Person calles Sumi whic was AR 35, but also quite long on this Server, so I suspected it has to be a 2nd Account made for the Event I tired to report it, but luckliy nothing happen, I am just curious if Sumi is known or not
I think they are from Asia/CN. I dont think they have 2 EU accounts. They were top 16 last CTG
@thorny mesa ayawah i was supposed to cancel
now you have to wait 15min instead of me
its cool i have time to spare 🫂
i usually play with music on so ill just vibe for 15 minutes
alright then
good luck everyone
those short seconds i am top 1
The mindplay with rerun matches
I played against that person
My friend told me sumi is an EU account of diarin (top player from SEA iirc). Playing on multiple regions is "discouraged", but isn't explicitly against the rules
I just played Sumi now
did you win?
Yeah
But i lost twice in a row to Re_0, still fuming, i cannot believe i let an invader beat me twice
I think i've never lost twice against the same person
Well I lost twice to 3 out of 4 persons I played twice with.
who is this re_0 person
is that a re-zero reference
I am curious too, they have insane winrate
:ayawah: now i wanna know who won against them
on another note, my electricity is back so now i can queue
the only thing i can show off is that I won against estes
you're still first
also are you actually an abba fan, as in the music group? :yaethunk:
became yesterday)
🦤gasp
i love europe.
Some of us more than others
I still think Asia is gotta be hardest
If you look at the Asia leader board the first one only lost 3 games
maybe its all doing the lantern rite at the last minute - i am, so im skipping this one 😄
I'm speedrunning the event
if you look at it from another angle, given just how random tcg may be at times, it can also mean that the skill ceiling of the opponents that person met was significantly lower
eu seems so chill
I mean it's better than me. I'm sitting 42nd rn
This season has my worst performance yet
I'm also washed
I'm not washed because I never was good
More easy for me, VentiZ VentiZ VentiZ
Wel l I somehow manage to win the first game of the day
wait when did PPpig get on EU leader board?
admins don't care about multiserver
yeah i know but i have not saw his name for like ever and i play 1 match and he is 1st?
speedrun?
EU is just the AS subregion trust
I get the feeling that yes
he was earlier named sherry
Generally you can tell if someone's from AS in the match room because it'll display room rules in their language
Washed player who went 5-0 in weekly before ctg

Meh, I stop the CTG here, 24/35 and no time for finish
For my real first CTG with only VentiZ and too much missplay, eh that's fine
honestly it's a pretty good score considering ventiz isn't meta
also the classic arties are pog. you have my trust
I'm on a hybrid
raibow decks are meta now with glided
but do you still run the elemental arties? :yaethunk: like the og VentiZ list
i normally use it as a dice fixer but i run them with lyre
Shimenawa
ayawah that's true but i don't want to acknowledge such a reality 😭
First version of my VentiZ was with Electro and Anemo arti but that's meh
the ones that disccount?
Shimenawa better and don't need more
Da
patpat
do you actually run shimenawa or just the capricious visage

"Eeeeh maaaybe", No.
i've seen the 3-cost one see use with characters who've prepare skills, like electro cube and sayu
but yeah otherwise, no
Like only a lyre x)
Sometime useful for 1 dice Gilded or 1 dice discount for Shimenawa 2cost
But not more
man i still have 6 matches left. hope i can finish them in the next timeslot
9 matchs for me and I need to sleep early so I stop here x)
today i wasted so much time- first because opponent wouldn't confirm match result so i had to contact mods, second cuz stall v stall
I had for today 7
I got against ninguang stall but early egg saved me and won the game
🦤gasp
@wispy rivet like I say, hybrid x)
they kill my main damage dealer like in secod round or something like that
And 2 seed surely too much
i see. looks like a really fun list ngl :yaethunk:
mao seems a bit sus with only 5 food
yeah x)
also mond reso where
1 is nice but 2 meh
and double mao even more
:dodogasp:
Why Mondsadt réso
at least 1 copy can be good situationally
ayawah
well you could do like 4 actions in a round with mond reso + venti + fish and chips
But the arti package with the card arti (idk the name, give dice when discard) and arcane + bow is goodge
boar princess
Gni
You need 11 dice for
2 food + 2 2 2 3 action
should be possible if you have mao and do some magic ig. but yeah not really practical
I should test for maybe less restrictive fish but really not a fan of the Mondsadt réso
pitastonks this card
I love this card
I've 2 dice ? Nah you looked at it wrong
Good dice without gilded not restric in this specific arti
I'm just a weak player who can't even pass preliminary matches

today witnessed a beautiful bug, a keqing double killed my characters with FWOF then got 2more moves before i get the turn again
So Keqing got 3 attacks and you still had dice?
had 3 dice for mona, tbh couldn't do anything even before that so it was kinda cool
That's kinda wild
I wonder if Fresh Wind saw 2 die and the code went "let them attack again" twice
do you have a screen shot of that moment? I might know what happened but without sc it is hard to tell
An opponent left without confirming and now I'm stuck in limbo, what do I do?
paimon won't let me cancel either because I already initiated confirmation...
nvm I got thrown out of the chat
Can I still get the win?
Is there any consequence?
nvm, leaderboards got updated
alright time to ruin someones potential top 16, queue up people
26 cards no bennet talent card
When your WiFi dies so you can't play your last 5 games
oof that's terrible :worrypat: my electricity died yesterday and i could only play one match. can't imagine having it happen on the last day
so i can understand your pain
I am extremely frustrated right now... I really wanted to do better than last CTG, but I got 1-4 today and I can only blame myself for bad play
Contact the bot, then they will ask for a video and then it's wait and after the competition ends they will revised your case
I don't like to rant, but I am so disappointed in myself
I won't make lb anyways but I wanted to see if I could place higher. Rn my stats this season is worse than last
:worrypat:
i think in general people just have more losses this season
Maybe, but I am really sad, because some of my misplays were quite obvious and I lost simply because my opponents played better than me
I really really hope they do something about Gilded Dreams
I don't think they will
shift+Del
Last time only got nerfev vurukasha and tm
Rainbow decks themselves are fine. The trade off used to be more consistent reactions but loss of resonance. Now there's no downside to artifact engine in rainbow
You can play perfectly with the information you have and your opponent can go from 0 dice to potentially KO
Pyro resonance is a really good card
But also with yeth now
I still don't think Jeht is that good but I'm probably missing something
Yeth it's kinda risky to play
I like both magic and jeht, but I always liked whatever is meta
Jeht just feels win more
Like if you're bursting for Jeht after all that set up you've probably already won
When you wanna play jeth is more obvious what you are doing by running that many companion cards
They both did this
Why is everyone using LS now??
The system still gave me the points, and my opponent just disappeared without saying anything after their loss, do I still have to go through this procedure?
Who's the real PPpig and who's real Sherry tho?
for me its because i hate playing gilded

They was reversed during preliminaries, but now their names are correct (PPpig is 1st and Sherry is 5th)
Men what's with people conceding the game
My last game and they gave up
I was gonna win anyways but men let me do the final hit
I think it was to keep people distracted

i thought this season would be different...
hey, I couldn't find it while scrolling through the faq just now, and it doesn't even affect me, but out of curiosity: what are the tiebreaker rules for the top16 cutoff?
its at Q14
oh thanks
assuming players have played all 35 games which basically all lb players have then it comes down to strikes and then time
so essentially, if you're about to barely make top 16, you should play your sunday matches at 8am? 😂
unfortunately yes
Yes
A lot of people will have the exact same points
and that is usually at 26-9
do the leaderboards reflect this immediately or will they update after everyone is finished?
Unless you have strikes
They updated every 60 seconds
they do reflect it now
although strikes may take some time after that but they usually dont
It takes about 1 day
I had to strike one person and now another one
But after night queue end they start with the strikes and stuff
yeah but the chances that a player at the bottom of the top 16 has a strike that is not yet counted is very low so in most cases the leaderboard you see at the end of the last timeslot is the final one
Yeah that's true
ok so people with 25-10 right now, that are below the 16th either have atleast 1 strike, or finished their games later than 13-16th
Yes
correct
nice thx for explaning
Probably ended later
Getting a strike is really weird, there aren't a lot of ways of getting one
imagine trying to be sus in a tournament like this
i find it quite impressive to have a whole system like this running on a discord server
especially cuz it seems to work so well
The power of money
@meager torrent can you play NA next ctg?
sincerely, a fan.
It's beyond of crazy
who let this sherry guy on NA lb
ayawah missed the lb by 1 :gldge:
And if you look at the Asia server lb the first guy only lost 4 games
i know theres at least 1 more person who only lost 4 games in asia just lurking right below lb
man i coulda been the only 3 loss person if i didnt throw against kenki
Kenki?
how many times did you lose to kenki players?
Magu kenki?
I could have been undefeated if I just didn't lose
surely i dont choke today
:sadge:
I didn't find any kenki
kevinz gets it
Unlucky

Same hahahaha
Ok but I memed too much early
Literally stomping people the final days :deadge:
7th
Wait did you won me with a meme deck?
Me and binzu be chilling together
why finish when you can sit
dont let this ppig guy get 1st
i snipe them r2 of knockouts
🦤
I saw pppig in the invitational last month and I gotta say I liked some of the decks he used
question; is the prize money according to prelim lb or the knockout results?
ko results
Ko
whelp, im out. Time to cause havoc in NA CTG
how many european players are on the lb rn :yaethunk:
That's a good question without answer
by my count 7
I want to know how many are playing this season so I can know if I did really bad or just average
yeah about half from my guess as well
how about na?
Well there's no rule against it
hmge i got the exact same result as the previous ctg, which was my PB
this means that LS isn't any stronger than BIN

Bin?
barbara itto noelle
Stalls
ill play a few. gonna make the lb score look more cope hopefully.
i feel like bin has better mu against mew and yelan but worse against finaly compared to ls
He was nerfed?
he was arguably the best character in the game
top meta shit
real quality
until it was nerfed
I do remember itto killing my full hp characters
man i feel like i got lied to. i faced only 1 finaly this entire ctg
LS Gets beaten by Finaly & any Dendro Magic/mid-range
what's the point of ls if there's no finaly
huh ls beats finaly
it's not that huge of a advantage
according to the data we have in 4.4
ls sucks
this patch
and even manages to lose to finaly
I have not once lost an match to LS with Finaly, I just beat one in CTG
but probably variance
Only!!
I have a Video of me beating Pilot's LS with it
bc last patch there was a decent chunk more data and finaly lost more often than not
against an NA player
doesnt count

i guess we just don't have any good data
to say anything conclusive
i wish ctg released player data
would be so good
i just played a Russian guy who was LS....okay since im out of CTG i will tell you the trick
Nahida seeds
With nahida ls is relatively easy win
Pretty sure you just spam dendro and then pressure them with reactions
bring back oceanid!
Start with Nahida,
They will start on Kokomi (thinking you will be Fischl)
Get Dendro on like most characters
then on alternating rounds Stack Fischl + Lyney summon
as when in pairs they cannot cleanse
You threaten reactions until they are forced to mess up cuz either they cleanse and give you bloom or you proc reaction which is the same
meh
Hopefully even 13 can make it (⬅️ extreme level kopium)
according to the github it's ls 9-7 finaly
And then you also have the funny artifact to snipe a char after they've ended round
Plus you (hopefully) run 2x adeptus to mess with their minds even more
have a match with me and we can see
I only run one with finaly
And one egg because sometimes the egg can mean winning or lossing
:ayawah: even if either of us wins it won't say anything about the matchup cuz it's a sample size of 1
besides you're a better player than me
I personally really enjoy 2x adeptus cuz I usually swap to Lyney after having charged nahida burst so I have a nuke ready as soon as Lyney dies/I draw a fast swap
And dice cringe can also happen
yeah. so we should do a best of 20
that should be good enough
And egg in FiNaLy is cope imo cuz your deck should be built in a way that allows every single one of your characters to finish the game
Ig it depends on whether you run Chef Mao or not
But I don't like him eather
The egg almost always gets tuned
Maybe it's just my playstyle with FiNaLy but I've never had a situation where I thought "oh egg would've won me the game"
:yaethunk: i think egg is okay
I started running egg like 2 or 3 days ago
we've seen it win games in asia invitational
And it was worth it
But as I said, a good FiNaLy deck should be able to close out on any character with the help of cards like ihly/tandoori/adeptus/lotus/gilded imho
I do run food cards, but as said before, in the Asia invitational egg maded the difference in some games so I decided to try it
egg is arguably more effective in invitational
than prelims
bc it;s open decklist so your opponent has to play around it
egg does help finishing games with unexpected reaction or extra action to kill you
I know
we can't rely on this info too much because of little sample size, imo
unless it's cn tourneys ig
where there's a lot, lot more competitive players and high chances they're equal in skill
yeah the sample size is def not high enough but it is cn tourneys i think? idk i can't read chinese https://gjfleo.github.io/summoners-summit/en/teams/4-3
Yelan otk it's still pretty strong
small negative delta on egg
not enough to say anything about it in one direction or the other conclusively
sweet madame on the other hand tho 👁️ 👁️
guys, i won 3 matches, so i get the cardback right?
yeah
chef mao stonks
its 2 games i think
yep
but it takes a long time for the card back to be sent. expect to wait for a few months
yeah im still waiting for s1 cb
Yep

Damm
still no cardback from the previous seasonXDD
but cn got it early
2024s1?
can confirm as the ls player
Last season i played all 35 games, and got burnt out because the games are too long for me, very hard to play with work and college, so tonight i grinded the 3 wins xd
Lmao
If you play stall decks expect to spend a lot of time
im still kinda mad about that egg
I like stall but decided to play more aggro to make it faster
wait
is it really that hard to beat finaly on ls? which side is gaslighting me?
Wait was it you? I don't remember discord names
it was indeed me
The ninguang stall
i believe ls can survive finaly most of the time
yeah the one that killed lyney out of nowhere and got egged on yeah
O men I was laughing when I saw I could kill your ninguang my egg
its tough
its possible but not most of the time
Yeah
i did both win and lose that matchup on finaly
I'd say there was a clear skill difference between those who lost and won
for me it's the other way
fast games Ineed to stack up your cards in a great way
in stall I'm just going for nice long plays
Says the persons who lost hahahha
just the fact that most of your stuff applies hydro to you and they have nahida for blooms makes it rough
i mean ive also won finaly matchups
I got that matched in my fav list
cleansing bloom isn't the worst though
it's better than giving away burning or quicken
its probably something like 4-2 or 4-3 this ctg
this
Yep
definitely not the worst matchup ever but a good player can make it really really hard for you to win
yeah but when the better option is giving them 2 free damage that doesnt sound too good 😭
get 1 energy on everyone and then go for barb burst
tenacity belongs to barb
I run tenacity on Barbara and ninguang
oh ive done that and still died very very hard
Kokomi is the sacrificial lamb of the Deck
huh? you lose 2 dmg instantly
but in the long run you're avoiding ~3dmg and delaying nahida seeds with high chance
plus if you stack blooms for them, you're winning even more
yeah ik its the better option
its just an option that they could still easily take advantage of
Barbara skill it's a double edge sword
Hii sorry to interrupt just checking that if i have 3 wins in the preliminary i get the card back correct?
its just the better of two evils
and it's your job to not let them do it
yes
yepyep
Yep
Ty :D
Can clean and apply and you can take advantage of it
yeah ik
actually real af
and even more if you cleanse electro
i believe i just talked about a barb nerf to either izuna or silky after our game today
Not always, but yeah Barbara skills is really good
barb burst has the highest fixed value
barb skill and burst both have insane theoretical value
its crazy how often calx burst instantly ends the game
I don't remember talking about Barbara I remember talking about the egg and maime or whatever is the name of the card
ok so it was with silky yeah
calx is so annoying
it's often a single card to decide the match
unless your calx turn gets egged 😔 cough cough izuna cough cough
I don't play genshin in English so what is the calx?
the energy sharing card
and there were even more decks that took advantage of it earlier
You called me?
1 cost take 1 from your other characters
Oh thx
I know I know

It's just some names change a lot between English and other languages
I'm open to play more times, I really enjoyed the game
im basically always down for some tcg if im online on genshin
Then we will play more games in the future
Coop is not always the best way of testing new decks
hi liliba
why do Kevin stop at the score of 277
idk
i think hes trying to fix his leaderboard position
to get the r1 opponent he wants

why did binzu stop at 27/5 is my question

He will end same score as you dw
binzu why
so i can face first place r2
yeah rmm is just kinda dead most of the time for me 😭
My average time is like 3 minutes waiting for someone to pop
yeah and then you start only matching against that same person 3 times in a row

kevin beats him enough already dont need binzu to too
but have to win Kevin r1

who's bullying tho
yep
thats not the problem

also wont kevin end 28-7

if he had a match that didnt count
whats binzu talking about

also maybe i should have just gone for first place
nah beating first place > being first place
I have similar wr to binzu I can be proud
I won a top 3 and it did felt good but it didnt make my rank changed that much
into not losing a game forever
:kleesob:

:sitklee:
"just don't lose"
although
isn't ko best of 3?
2 top 16s guarantees top 24 for serious showdown anyways
oh right
we can total points now
for EU
see who made it

wait
im dumb

ignore me
yeah and i thought of hiding my strenght and just losing
I rmb I was 17/5 and then boosted to 27/8
lost unloseable game coz my wifi crashed
my only issue with that would be being on a bus
hate those things
on a train it ain't a problem
u get used to it
i remember when i had an 8 am class i would be doing ctg during it
depends on the road and bus quality
doesn't matter to me
I can only tolerate them in cold weather, away from any heaters
i c
i played one match during class
hahaha
just discover that one of players i got matched today is a friend of one of my friends hahaha
everybody has "that one introveted friend", so it adds up to eight

hahaha
its me im the introverted friend

Yeah, you talked to me and I agree
Though what makes stall broken now is mostly veteran visage arti
This needs quick nerf
if stall gonna get nerfed what's gonna happen to all the jehts and magic around
:sadge:
And in my opinion Ninng help too much in soo mu
Stall give you the time to equip Ningg and after she can just one shot you
But maybe that's because I don't play decks with strong early pressure, surely that
Howerver, veteran visage give so much value yeah
For nerf Barbabruh I would like, she give like 6 heal + 2 cleanse lmao, but if they too much nerf Barbabruh I'm afraid that stall disappear
Kill them too
The powerlevel of the format has been getting out of hand for a while so its about time we have a patch that just kills everything
Wait are people saying Visage is good?
Isn't it is on some decks like Bennett overload and Ningguang Barbara Kokomi? Personally I have lost multiple times against people who used that artifact
in some scenarios it can be good yes
I'm just surprised I made a right call on the card when it was first shown. People were saying it didn't look too good but it's mini Tenacity
Yeah we been saying that (i just dont play it because i like me some shields)
The most important part of Visage is it trigger off-field
It's the one that gives you a dice when healing of reviving damage (?)
Yeah
its very good
Again I don't play the game in English so the names changes
Heal/damage +1 dice then draw a card
I run it in the double anmeo stall
No without giving one free dices
Yeah i used Visage in my LS deck on Kokomi
dude visage is op

I know it's good but when it was first revealed everyone I saw said it was bad so I was surprised I was right on it being good
i remember when it first came out
and blep made a vid revewing the new cards
and said visage was the worst card of the patch
then i shilled visage so hard
and turn it around

Because it wasn't clear that effect can be procced off-field. If that was working only on-field as most artifacts, it would be very mid, like worse vorukasha. But because it works off-field, it turns out you can easily abuse its value
Its a really handy artifact for deyha
Yes, that as well
So how much time does it take to review all the games that didn't end well? I had to put 2 strikes on different players
So I'm not sure if it's already done and my score can't change anymore or it can
takes 3-4 days after the tourney ends. it'll be announced in #tournament-updates so you'll know
Thx
how many people played in the tournament?
afaik over a thousand smt people got a win
eu or all server combined?
all server i think
OK, so we shall expect ours on the end of preliminary of S3 :3
Think so
ah, the blue iron card back is actaully prettier! i perhaps sholdve tried getting it, but since i dont use them usually at all, i didnt get it. im surprised they sent hte s1 so quickly though!
So Enkanomiya cardback when
Ok can I ask about the time you need to reserve for top 4?
How come the time for third place and finals is before semis even end?

hold up, let me check it with the broadcast OP
and feel free to slide in the #📨contact-qixing for questions like this, cuz of the implied confidentiality over there
resolved, ty Kevin

Well now is the knockout phase
good to know, at lest others didn’t forget
You can always play in the next season
I was wondering where were you
Now we know
Silkyyyyy
yes I’m very forgetful, and something else has caught my mind this year so I got distracted a bit… next season I’ll be there
Surely next season will be yours
and how your games went? any scary meta now you fear, perhaps?
My games? Not the best I guess, problem is I was playing anti-FiNaLy deck but I almost never actually met FiNaLy
Instead it was a lot of stall so I was just giving them free wins on that deck
omg silky i feel vindicated. i also was playing anti-finaly but met it only once 🫂
oh wow I see it’s not any better than last season then. I’m gonna need to check out new meta decks if there are ones to prepare for s3
We both had same problem then
Meta in next patches might be even worse but we have yet to see it, hopefully it will be better though
next patch meta might be completely different depending on the balance changes coming in a week
I just know that the second Kuki Shinobu card drops it’s gonna be over 😭 idk maybe to me it only seems like a possibly strong card, but I got hopes
ayawah the Big TCG lied to us
kuki will help itto get out of jail and it'll be itto meta again trust
please no more Itto

Ive been escaping him for so long

That's the pure truth (he still was too strong though)
just a matter of taste
Randomly getting 16 dice is probably very entertaining to the casual viewers at least
While everyone complains about slow gameplay featuring barb cleanse
Nyaa~
in a game with little animations going on there's little stuff viewers could focus on I guess:c
ooooo they have nahida sticker nowwwww
@versed barn I doubt the fairness of using such 'mini games' to determine the winner in the knockout phase. The individual with better devices and network access could gain a significant advantage in the mini game. Also the rules do not specify the use of this method for deciding the winner.
'Mini game': the individual who replies to the message sent by Sussy Paimon first wins the game.
Another issue: the usage of such 'mini games' could encourage individuals to pretend they are unable to negotiate a suitable time when facing strong opponents.
it's very unfortunate to resort to this method because both players are unable to schedule a time to play, mainly because the combination of timezone issue and final exams/assignments are coming up
can i dm
it's kind of patchy to select a winner via this method, other ones with competiveness touch to them are being explored but im open to suggestion
more scheduling issues huh
it only happens when both players consent it to happen within the 23h time window, outside of that, the TOs will forcefully do it, cuz time waits for no one
yah, it happened more than it used to this time round

Maybe a quick Bo1
same deck mirror
I understand that you have to find out a way to determine the winner when players are unable to negotiate a suitable time, but this 'mini game' is definitely unfair. Even flipping a coin could be a better way.
At least it's a fair game.
coin flipping is too RNG, a touch of competitiveness should be considered don't you think?
Maybe add a line when if two player are unable to negotiate a time, then the match will happen at exactly 12:00 am or an X:00 time. Give 10 minutes window, and who doesn't show up lose.
*12 am being the time limit
this is actually something nice to consider
good idea
with this, regional advantage could be achieved
like, the forcefully agreed time should be at a specific time, based on the server's local timezone
but then i think the time window for 2 players scheduling should be like 23 hours and the time for force match is 1 hour
i know a lot of peeps moving to EU cuz it's less heated here
This would cause the problem that, one could claim to only have time to play at the fixed time and win the game as long as the opponent is unable to play at the time
but that also means that you need to know the other person's schedule. I don't think people will go that deep into digging their opponent's lifestyle to get a free win.
another option is to cancel the whole round entirely with no player advancing; this then making the next bracket player get a free win
but that has it's own issues which we've discussed
i see
instead of using the fixed time, you can use a random time in a certain period
i do think having a fixed time to play your games when both opponents can't agree on a specific time is better than deciding who to advance with the "minigame"
the force match schedule should be set at a comfortable time slot of that specific region
imo
if you do that then whens the next match gonna be played
it would need to be scheduled and played probably at the same time
fwiw, we do have a fixed time per day for each bracket that we hope for players to play their games in; if neither player is able to play even with the fixed end time, then it kinda just becomes 'who responds first' again as mentioned with the minigame
surely having a 2 day window for each match fixes all the problems
shift the 23-hour timeslot based on each region
it’s unfair if the force match is 12 am for na
it would affect casters i think
for final and 3rd place
online KO tournaments are hard to time manage just due to the diff in timezones, esp when we aren't able to control what happens in players' lives; doing the best we can with the 24hr time flexibility but there has to be a point where we can't delay the whole tournament up for one particular match yknow
Well maybe ya guys can schedule the CTG sooner than usual for 2 days window in KO
a fixed time as in like exactly an hour before the time slot ends for example? well if neither player can play that is really unfortunate
can i participate in the mini game or is it invite only
can i participate in the mini game or is it invite only
next time you make it to KOs juts say you dont have time if you think ur gonna lose
Wise words from SI
Strats that don't work for me :life:
fixed as in the end of the timeslot that sussy sets per match room - usually will state in a message saying that both players should play and submit their results before x time in the day
if no consensus on game time happens by the end of the timeslot, then that's when we just see whatever player's online and can respond first
that is the thing, you don't need to play, you just need to show up
we might consider moving up the KO phase to Sunday perhaps, but tbh it's kinda a bandaid solution to this since it'd only be useful for one day
yeh, that's the policy we essentially have in place atm, perhaps otherwise phrased as a minigame
🦤
then yeah i do think there should probably be something like this before using the minigame
and only if both players can't login the game and play at that time you're forced to decide with something else
Imagine Players in KO just need to show up on time to win while in Prelim we must duel 35 games

unfortunately that had to happen
if we could manufacture time we would, but alas
I once worked as a staff member in another game and when neither people show up to a match it's just who responds first moves on
it is what it is, honestly
you know the struggles

honestly a 24 hour window is kind of broad to try and coordinate in some sense, too much for a tournament setting
what if you split it into 3x 8 hour blocks and asked players to fill a form that makes them choose 2 of the 3 sections to play in, and then you just assign an 8 hour window from whatever overlapping selection, or even a specific time within that block?
Players should never have such direct control over outcomes because they'll bend it to their advantage.
Prelims are already scheduled during specific windows and people had to play 35 games to make it into KOs. Why can they suddenly not make it during those windows?
Rather than determining a winner through such uncompetitive means that, imo, goes against the integrity of an established esports tournament, maybe TOs should step in and set the schedule themselves if two players seemingly can't find a time.
ppl had a week to play in prelims, whereas each KO round is limited to 24hr
irl there are many events that prevent ppl from playing, even 3 games, during a specific 24hr window
I don't disagree. I like the discussion around 48 hour KO windows
But I do think that a TO setting the time for two players within prime queueing time for that region is fair too, and this is only if they can't find a slot
maybe KO players can report windows of when they can play directly to TO or bot? at least this bypasses the chance of someone specifically picking windows where the other player is unable to attend
Ooh like through a command
ya
Tbh I also think it's fine to not be so rigid on the time windows
Just communicate to the players they will be seeded into
It should be on a case by case basis
ya i think some suspect that ppl might intentionally mis-report their playable time based on their opponent's playable time
That's their problem. Players shouldn't ever do that
And it should be punishable
It's hard to enforce though
ya exactly
But this is why it's important to take that power out of players hands. If two players seemingly can't find a time window, the game is automatically assigned to the prime queueing time
Which is probably evening queue
And make the windows 48 hrs long
that makes sense!
In esports settings, it's important things are crystal clear with no room for negotiation
There's too much on the stake at this stage

I do agree that IRL events can totally get in the way, but once you've made it to this stage, the show must go on
