ooh i tried yelan signora tm. I didn't play since the previous cup, besides trying out the deck one day before i started playing on wednesday, so i only today realized taht i was supposed to really try to get as much yelan's bursts up, I wa smainly focusing on tm, so today i went 7-5 after playing better. 😄 (plus i had some misplays so if i played better, i could've won more matches - like the last one where I could've gone for lethal if I had done some things differently to have one more dice to attack at the end :D)

i gained mythic there a few times and then realized i really hate the rigged matchmaking system that would match you up with a deck based on your own deck type...(since I was playing one deck a lot, so if you swtiched to another and played another 20+ matches in a row, you'd notice the differnces)

I wouldn't say GM and Mythic are the same because GM0 is like Mythic but there's still ranks to GM. But yeah you need GM for tournaments

as I'm writing this, ~3000 players are playing on TETR.IO, though only ~700 people are playing in Tetra League (the competitive queue)

but for a game at the scale of Genshin, it does feel low

I personally think if this is for one week then a standardized rating system with ~20 calibration matches would be good, but I've never seen a tournament that depends on a temporary rating system for qualifiers

there are also time limitations: even though there are 2 queues per day, one of them is in the morning, so most people only have 9-10 effective queues

which means they can only play in a fixed 4-hour period every day

and if they can't be available for that period, then tough luck

that said, this needs more thought into it than it looks

I'm curious, I received my 320 primigems from previous season of tournament, but I don't get a card back. I read that you need to win 3 rounds from preliminary phase and you will get it. Did I misunderstand something?

this might be a bit complicated but what you can do is go to #preliminary-queue and count the number of threads that were made during the duration of the preliminary stage, and take that number minus the number of cancelled matches (if any)

jeht engine decks are everywhere i swear, nilou bloom is also here and there, cryo cube superconduct is also becoming a thing. nothing else really changed, but electro oceanid’s nerf impacted the signora sc deck that was meta last season, you could replace it with millennial seahorse now tho.

thoma is a good pyro applicator with decent stalling skills, sayu is basically an alternative to other anemos in already known decks (but with talent she’s real good), millennial seahorse is basically tanky electro oceanid, i haven’t cryo hyp yet in many decks but it excels in superconduct (ex cube + fishl is an exceptional combo)

Sayu replaced (?) Wanderer in MEW, Seahorse is very strong and arguably better than pre-nerf Manifestation, Thoma is pretty bad, not sure about cryo cube

Meta remains pretty much the same. Old magic engine and some new stall decks with Seahorse. Then there's off-meta stuff like Nilou Bloom and RNX, but it can still beat meta if things go well for you.

jeht is pretty inconsistent from my experience but is fun to play with, I'm not sure whether she has potential to rival the meta, but I guess the tournament will show

the arcane card you mean? it clears elemental statuses off your characters affected by one by adding to them a status of your current active character (except dendro, geo and anemo).

they won't take any damage, but if some reaction has any additional effects (e.g. freeze, burn, bloom and such) - your opponent will take advantage of them.

if you open up the event details, it hsould show the time of the event with the time slots - the way it works it that for the whole next week, always from eg. 7-12am and then 7-11pm in europe (CET, so change it to your timezone), on the eur server, you join the random queue and get matched up with someone. you get 5 slots per day and they add up, if you dont use them, so u get 10 slots on tuesday ify ou didnt play on monday, and 8 slots on tuesday if you played 2x on monday. you get 35 matches (5x7), hope that helps! edit. atm it doesnt show the time for the timelslots, but normally its...8-12 morning and then 7-11pm CET(GMT+1)

it means that the card has an effective value of 2 dice while de facto costing 0, the point is to cleanse an element from your characters and prevent opponents from doing more damage and taking advantage of whatever they were planning to take, be it overloading, freezing, or literally anything you can think of

and no, it doesn't re-apply the element, it adds an element of your current active character to all your characters that are being affected by any status, triggering a reaction - but not taking the damage for it

It is not about having to practice on Serious mode. It is about having it samely difficult. Or at least close to that, I believe.

You can of course practice in Friendly Fracas, but you probably will have it kinda easier than any live player.

I personally think that AI is... not very good on either mode. And am not sure if it really plays worse on Friendly (single difference being talent equipped since the start).

So it is likely that fight with AI always will be different from playing against live players. :/

One way or another, folks, all power to you. Try to practice, try serious showdown, try watching videos of matches of live players to understand how do they think and you might adopt that style of thinking after all. :3

I would not have reccommended to play stall in the first few days (except if you know your opponent) because random decks are dangerous
