I'm sure you know already, but i will say that it is normal to be matched up with someone for another match, esp if you both queue at the same time; if your opponent is not willing to play, then you both can either acknowledge that in match chat and cancel, or report the match so we can investigate

CTG is hosted wholly within a patch, so every time it takes place it is certain to end before the end of the patch when it started. I wouldn't call it "every patch" because before this one we had an off-season of 2 patches, if I remembered correctly (nope, it was actually just 1 patch).

The Prince Cup series, on the other hand, consists of international events. Last year, it took place as a "world tour" of sorts with each region's event having top players from their respective regions from the CTG event closest to each Prince Cup event. Because of its nature of being the highest-level stage of play, Prince Cup does not have a fixed schedule (yet).

CTG feeds players into CTG: Serious Showdown, which then feeds players into the Prince Cup (though it's not the sole way for players to qualify for the Prince Cup). In esports terms, Prince Cup is Tier 1, and CTG is Tier 2.
