Well I think what they intended originally is for the built-in TCG system to not come with any rewards so casual players and Abyss mains won't have to worry too much about it.

And in the case of CTG, it does not violate that vision because it's not built into the main game experience, but as an external event. CTG could be seen the same way as, say, HoYoLAB events - they are not part of the main game experience, but they still give out Primogems - IYKYK. (Let's be honest, not like all Abyss mains are going to do art for Primogems or anything.)

right i mostly wanted to reinforce the point here seems to be with the implementation of rewards rather than that TCG should not have rewards at all and i think that point was starting to be missed

I think if you're a regular tcg player, and particularly tcg players tend to lean analytical too, objectively speaking this reward structure is might be similar payout wise to something else.

But that was one of my initial criticisms with this reward system is that it's going to feel bad for some amount of the players who don't normally interact with TCG and cause FOMO and then that directs negativity towards TCG mode in general

Its almost the exact type of sentiment I was predicting would come out of it, word for word

I promise its not me on an alt accnt

There are other ways to improve queueing without using this kind of prize structure and I think it's short sighted.

Whats going to come out of this is mostly players who probably would never have played TCG and ignored it, now still won't play but feel resentful towards it existing which is just all negative

Its the exact same compalint with the TCG event - you're not organically making players wanting to plat TCG more but just turning it into another event they have to grind even if they don't enjoy it.

What is going on? I open to a 100 page complaint about getting primogem? Just so you know prince cup also send winners primogems. People got primogems for tea pot building, answering trivia questions and all sort of random activities. There was a hoyolab event that give gems based on how many games you won in coop mode in game. All this is nothing new.

you need to play 35 games (since everyone else on the leaderboards probably will lol)

as long as they fall within the middle it should be OK

idk what tourney day sept 25th is, but if it's an important one like knockouts, you might need to speak privately with an organizer to request a reschedule

but you gotta get through prelims first
