But apparently the registration period ended way before the twitter post was made lol. Is there information about a concrete registration period for S4 or is it just Soon™? It would be announced in #tournament-updates, right?

is not something I'd do in GI TCG because you can do big comebacks here so the window for forfeiting to save time is super small. Like, by the time a comeback is no longer possible there's also no point in forfeiting because you have like 3 HP left, at that point might as well just give your opponent the satisfaction of victory

you can still play the rest 8 games at day 2

only the top 16 players pass from prelims to knockouts, the ranking is determined by the amount of wins and losses you have (a win gives 10 points and a loss gives 1)
So you basically just have to play the 35 total games and if you got a good enough amount of points you will pass to knockouts, if you don't make it to the top 16 you don't qualify and that's where the tournament ends for you

Knockouts is just how the next phase is called it doesn't mean you get knocked out
