The idea is that with furina (cons) building becomes easier because mainstat goblets are on average relatively speaking better than they were before

They are rarely better than elemental goblets, and "oversaturating" dmg% is extremely hard

For almost all scenarios and characters its just a nobrainer to use a elemental goblet instead of a mainstat goblet, unless your elemental goblet is just really bad

It also varies on a bunch of other factors, external mainstat buffers etc, you should never just go and be like oh I have a lot of damage bonus, better get a mainstat goblet

its more likely than not wrong, and if you want to be optimal you should optimise
