Everyone can only say it after the tree upgrade but I haven’t dumped them into the tree because I’m still missing a chest and haven’t claimed some others so my sigil count is off

What are encounter points for?

They're an alternative to commissions, and you gain them doing all sorts of stuff in the game (opening chests, collecting oculi, completing quests, etc.). Like commissions, they give rewards, and once you have completed 4, you can redeem Daily Rewards from Katherine.

After you've collected Daily Rewards, excess Encounter Points will get stored as "Long Term Encounter Ponts". Once stored, you can use them at a later date by consuming resin (30 resin = 1 encounter point "redeemed")

• Alchemy Table → condense 160 resin
• Book Menu → convert encounter points
• Adventurer's Guild → claim daily commissions → claim expeditions
