Most "Cryo" Shields used by enemies are in reality of the Frozen element. Hydro application does not affect the Frozen gauge on enemy shields.

so another choice is to run a hyperbloom/spread/aggravate team

Let's say in childe xl bennett kazuha, xiangling has 200% er reqs
This means that she gains 40 energy throughout the rotation and needs 200% er to burst off cooldown
Giving Kazuha favonius (can trigger twice per rotation on higher refines, but we can use R1 triggering once for the sake of this example) provides 3 clear particles worth 6 energy, which gives 3.6 energy to xl due to her being off field when the particles are collected
This changes the amount of energy xl gains in that rotation from 40 to 43.6, lowering her er requirements to ~183%, which is about 17% ER
This 17% ER can be redistributed to other stats like cr/cdmg/atk/em, which is about 20% cdmg or 10% cr or 15% atk or 60 em
Which means for that specific team having fav on kazuha buffs xiangling's stats by that amount (also buffs other members that have non 0 er req like childe but for simplicity sake we're only counting xl)
