you can avoid a lot of attacks by jumping and he has high stagger on his plunges which prevents a lot of enemies from being able to attack him in the first place

a shield isn't useless on xiao especially if someone is bad at the game mechanically, but it's more of a comfort than necessity

Playing Yoi without a shielder is 100% an option, it's just not recommended as it's damage can largely be down to enemy AI and stuff

Vap has been Yoi's best team for years, and nothing has changed that

in the end Xiangling and Yoimiya clash, one wants to play it safe while the other needs to be rubbing the enemy
