in overworld, he can be useful for climbing with his hold skill letting you fly up
in abyss, they often put a mix of single and multi target chambers in floor 12 to keep him from being too good
but your ability to full-clear depends on the chamber giving you the most trouble.
so he's usually someone you only bring when the chamber you're struggling the most with is solved by him
