It may be a bit outdated than the new open-world gacha games after Genshin, but it had its charm.

I dunno, I just preferred Genshin than others, probably because compared to the others (which had the repetitive sci-fi apocalyptic theme, that caused similarities), Genshin had this fantasy-like stuff (mixed with apocalypic sci-fi nowadays but still fits the fantasy vibe). And despite the dark lore, the world was bright and pleasing to my eyes, and it makes exploring refreshing at times (despite no mounts or parkour, but it adds to the challenge)

I think the problem im having after defending this game for so long is the game style. Its very repetitive, not just in gameplay, but in story too. Theres the main story (tryna figure out wtf lumine is doing n stuff), and the side story with whatever the region's issue is. The side story is so predictable that I do not care anymore. Now, admittedly I am not caught up, I believe im one quest away from nod krai. But everything leading up to the end of natlan was the same pattern.
Traveler goes to region, solves their nation's problems, is claimed a hero of the nation, archon tells us to go to next region and has no information about our sibling. I really enjoyed fontaine despite it being so long because the side story was different, so much so that I want to play it again.

In Epic Seven, you need to save 120 in advance just to get the featured character, since it will not carry over the pity

The gacha system was like a modified version of Genshin, generous (since low pity of 60, guaranteed at 120, and freebies) but the disadvantage is the fact that as an f2p, you need to be prepared if you want one character. That is if their gacha economy will not cope with that system. If the economy is good, we will have no issues.

I have huge trust on Endfield as an f2p. WuWa already drained me because of their back-to-back banners, even my f2p ass can't catch up with the new banners anymore since I have to complete my existing teams.

e7 is a bit of an outlier. the rgb peeps are easy to get. its the ML peeps that are the real hard ones to get

and the ML peeps are usually where they get the bulk of their revenue
