More like Spiral Abyss of Genshin, yes (like their MoC) but it's more on AoE than the usual boss slated on Memory of Chaos. That's why HSR had multiple tier lists in Prydwen.

For example, Apocalyptic Shadows is a pure boss fight.

Memory of Chaos was the actual Spiral Abyss of HSR (a mix of boss and mobs, complete with floors like Spiral Abyss).

Pure Fiction was AOE focused gamemode (so that's why Erudition units like The Herta shines in there), single target DPSes like Archer are discouraged in there.
