When you have spent all your resin in like... 20 minutes you're left wanting to play more but not having much to do, you explore more those things you haven't done until it run eventually run dry or a new patch drop in.

I don't think it should be one or the other, both could technically be done on a concurrent manner, albeit i'm influenced by how FF14 spoils its playerbase and i'm not aware of how they're working.
