this post is just a ** S H O R T ** list divided into mini concepts of various game mechanics that could improve the building gameplay, if you can call it that way. The post is divided into game mechanics, structures, and materials. I put a lot of effort into this suggestion, so pls read it if you have some time. dont forget to put here, or I'll be not happy (maybe)

#

This is an UPDATED list of things to update the building

#

building mechanics

~~-free camera mode~~ (added into the game)
-the mode of seeing unfilled structures (if you enable this mode, you will see all the unfilled structures on the base)
~~-the mode of selecting structures by selecting area~~ (added into the game)
-the ability to give names to custom schematics (you can rename any of your schematics)
-Custom doors (This is also the mode. you need to select all the blocks that are your door, select the center of the axis and click "confirm")
-Custom elevators (This is ALSO a mode. you need to select the upper part of the elevator and the lower (body), then click "confirm")
-special tool to disable structure colission (click on the structure and the collision will be disabled. If you ask "we can use collider?", then I will answer "it is not convenient to use collider")
-structure lock (with this mode,you can disable the ability to edit the structure)
-The ability to turn off the visibility of particle blocks (excluding the particle itself).
-The ability to change the water block color (when you hold a jar of dye in your hand, you can add it to the water to change the color of the water)
-The ability to select a territory on the base in which music will be played from the selected vinyl player (This mechanic is very useful when there is a store, as well as an ordinary house on the base.Specific music for each building!)

~~-Custom scale values~~ (added into the game)
~~-Custom rotating angle values~~ (added into the game)
-combining structures into one model (select all the structures you need using multi-select and combine them into one model using a special button. this will help you easily move the model without selecting all the structures for a long time. it greatly reduces the construction time. the model can be separated back.)
-cutting out of existing structures (you can get any shape out of the structure. you just need to insert schematic into the structure, mark schematic as "negative" and combine it with the structure. you can also cancel the cut and return the old structure.)
-custom made crates (You can make your own crate! Just select in your building what is the main part, what is the openable part, and the hitbox where items should be frozen. Kaboom! You have received your customized crate!)
-ability to flip structure (just select all you need structures and click flip button to make the structure.....MIRRORED!!!)
~~-change sliding door hitbox~~ (thx devs for doing that)
~~-change the plane hitbox~~ (added into the game)
-group resizing (tired of having to manually resize each structure?No problem! Now you can use multi-select to resize a group of structures!)
-custom made base signs (select a zone on your base that is your "sign". after that, select the place where the text will be and choose its size. after that, you will have your own sign!)

-symmetry assistant (tired of manually finding the center of the structure? No problem! Now you can select any zone and select the mode. for example, if you want to make evenly spaced lamps on the ceiling, the symmetry assistant will show you some excellent points for this.(idk, I can't explain it any better...sorry)
-the opportunity to disable auto-filling of the structure (tired of any material accidentally falling into your structure and filling it? with this button, any structures you need WILL NOT be filled with material that touch the structure. (material gun does not apply) hooray!)
-the opportunity to disable the visibility of wires in building mode (your wires become a complete mess and now you can't figure anything out? well....Now you can select the wires that burns your eyes and turn off their visibility for your convenience!)
** ~~ -movable wires ~~ ** (THEY ADDED THAT 🗣️🔥🔥🔥)
-Copy and Paste with materials (if you enable this feature, the structures you copy will not require manual filling (the material gun is needed for this)
-movable vines (since the vines were added, it was almost impossible to move them in building mode. and it would be convenient if they could be moved in large numbers at one time)
-undo button (cancels any action in the building mode: placement, movement, deletion, rotating, copying. placement and deletion of wires do not apply to this function. filling structures with material gun also does not apply.)

-Waterfall particle block (did you see this waterfall when you passed the bridge? I'm talking about it....)
-Semicircle and semicylinder schematics (just believe me, they will make people's lives much easier, even if these schematics can be made with the cylindrical wedge.)
-Curtains (they can be closed and opened)
-360° rotating chair ** (The chair will rotate depending on the position of your camera
-A light switch (which stands in most houses. It also have animation)
-wall hooks for axes or pickaxes (if you hold the tool up to the hooks, they will lock onto it. You can also take a tool from hooks)
-ceiling light and dot light (What can I say here?)
-new darkness particle block (creates darkness in the selected place)
-cylindrical water block (basic block of water in some situations simply cannot be placed. for example, I tried to put it in a transparent jar and i'm failed))
-drawing board (maybe you will draw a paintings on it or a plan for a new slot)
-ore/wood combiner (put the material in it, select the size, and click on the button. The unused materials will come out from the other side(https://discord.com/channels/865737627712749579/1260050798260518984)
-sprinkles particle block (something like confetti, I don't know)
-water jet particle block (with this block you can make a fountain....or just beautiful splashes of water ¯_(ツ)_/¯ )
-siren red light (if you turn it on, its light will spin and it will make siren sounds (the sound can be turned off if you want)
~~-acid block*~~ (added)
-sound effect block (I know that it probably won't be added to the game for some reason....btw this block can play sounds depending on which ID you insert into it.)

idk if you already have this but like a feature where you can remove from an existing schematic. For eg. you have a 30x30 square but want a window in the middle youre able to remove or cut out the size you want without having to delete the 1 schematic and creating 4 for the single shape you want if that makes sense

I especially want the materialpedia. Like i always have to go on the wiki/oakspace to see the colors of specific materials i'd like 😔 I think it would give a way more natural exploration feel and a natural insentive to explore. Like "Oh I have 16/40 wood types!" And the blank ones are black silhouettes of the tree/rock. Perhaps theres hints too!

These are mostly all really really good ideas!!Area select is pretty much being begged for at this point and hope to see it implemented.

I was just thinking last night how it would be nice to have a number of schimatics merge into one easily selectable/movable piece

A flip feature would be an absolute blessing on the level of 0.01 increments

Group resizing is something I just don't understand why it isn't already in the game....(Built a shadowbox fence...it ened up being just a little too short but I didn't notice till I was done coloring it x.x

I think most, if not all, of these ideas are great. Some have already been implemented into the game.

as for "-ore/wood combiner (put the material in it, select the size, and click on the button. The unused materials will come out from the other side(⁠The Stud Machine)" a material gun helps reduce waste.. ik not everyone has it, but most early games wont focus on detailed builds
