Or my thoughts are that this is just a single piece to a quest line that has been released to entertain us until the rest of the quest line is released. Think about it, maybe they thought that it was gonna take longer than it did to find out that the duck altar reacts to the pebble.

Another theory of mine what that the pebble is a remnant of the giant meteor that crashed and created the acidlands. The explosion you get from the duck altar could be connected with the acid lands somehow and we just haven't found the right place or time yet

Rewatching the clip, it seems like the whispers come from me chopping the MM, not the rock in the middle
Sorry for any accidental misdirection, I wasn't aware MM made that noise when chopping them so I assumed it was related to the pebble. Hopefully there is some kind of connection with the whispers though
