yeah i did use smooth, btw those shard edges are actually different parts of jetski. I made them so they can have multiple colors. plus the jetski i used for reference also had it like this

@keen vine i love the concept of boats being added it gives the game more oppotunities to add more stuff into the ocean like what mincraft did in the 1.13 aquatic update, the boats shown here are perfect and i think they need headlights or some sort at the front for night time nagivation, no attachments needed for boats everything is perfect!!

the treasures could be like, under the sandstone nodes and have a low chance of being there

and having a metal detector will most likely give a higher chance of finding one, it could be in tiers too

Speaking of new busses I spotted this awhile ago a lovely old NH bus and by old I mean 1999 oldest model they still own

Being a lifelong commercial fisherman and owning plenty boats I already love this game with the trucks and trailers and the idea of boats and trailers and docks will keep me avidly playing this for life!!

My first idea is we need something similar to this. Like a Maine lobster boat design with the open back transom(or opening cargo gate). Also note the railing or port(left) side that could be put on both sides to hold cargo. Then the wheelhouse to drive from up front

Here’s this style of boat looks like loaded up with traps(or in our case cargo)
Just some ideas to see if anyone has interest in this style boat

Some even have the starbord(right) side of the wheelhouse open for them to easily drive and pull their lobster traps. Might be nice for us for easy access to the wheelhouse to drive from while loaded with cargo

For kelp farming an open back design would be great on the boat. Then maybe(but not necessary) an opening cargo trailer that lays down flush with the water so it’s not hard to load kelp. Then if there was a tall metal railing on each side of the boat to hold more cargo in like the railing on that one lobster boat in my 2nd set of pics

I wanted to model a boat with a lot of storage space, but couldn't found any references. Do you know any big boat which can be put on a trailer? I'm looking for boats which fit on trailer because that's the most simple way to implement boat spawning/obtaining. That would be very helpful

well it looks quite nice, but i really hope ther will be some type of large Barge that you can pull behind your boat for more cargp capacity

Yeah I figured the first blue and white model boat was the easiest I could find that’s trailerable. That style could be made anywhere from 25-35ft in real life, 30ft and below easily trailerable.

But I think maybe it could use 2 versions just like the large truck already in game. One version normal or flatbed equivalent, and one with the metal railing up each side to hold different cargo

Hmm I can try to model this into concept. I think one version is enough, metal railing can be implemented as an attachment which is an upcoming feature.

That would be awesome. I like the idea of the open back of the boat that’s almost down flush with the water so it’s easy to load stuff and the right side of the wheelhouse and the whole back wall open for driver access and standing room inside wheelhouse for passenger also.

Then the possibility of adding opening cargo tailgate and tall cargo railing attachments come later

Idk how it would work or if it would be possible, but we need a single “scallop” style dredge to trawl with on our boats to harvest kelp. Like real life, you drag through thicker patches(hotspots) on the ocean floor, your dredge fills a lot quicker. No idea how that would even work though

It looks nice, but I can say that you used too much cubes. You can model a crane just in one object. Just use edit mode, everything is possible in blender with the tools it already has

I can suggest you using tools like extrude faces, knife tool and loop cut, these are most useful ones and my favorite. Keep practicing and you can make very good models. Watch blender tutorials as there's a lot of features which makes everything easier.
