You'd buy an empty shipping crate from some kind of store (probably The Oak Depot) for a price of like $500-1000.
The crate will have to be mounted onto a structure, which will come at a price of like $25k at the same store, and will have surface that'll consume ores/woods the enter it and put it in the mounted crate (only if one is mounted of course). The contents of the crate will not be retrievable, and will stay in forever.
On the bright side, the crate will have a menu that shows all the contents when interacted with, and in the same menu, a progression bar will be at the top, showing how close you are to filling the crate, as well as a unit counter, which is obviously going show the amount of units of ore/wood is currently in the crate.
When the player decides they're done filling the crate or the crate is full, they can take it off the crate-loader and keep the crate on their base for later use, or bring it to any place that you can sell things, and you'll be able to sell the crate and its contents for the value of only the contents, meaning the player will lose the amount of money they've spent on the crate

This is a good suggestion, however I see a massive flaw in your idea that needs to be addressed asap. The ore that's put into the crate needs to have a way for it come back out, otherwise we might accidentally put the wrong ores in... Or worse... magnetite

#

So I propose a solution, how about we add lids to the crates that can be opened and closed to reach in and grab whatever is inside out of the box? Doesn't that seem like a better idea..

#

And as for the crates, like a chisel they will automatically compress down ore into a more portable state of solid mass

#

And anchor them down automatically, so the ore does not cause lag by bouncing around inside the box in mass quantities

#

Now as for the crate itself, when the ore is sold, the crate itself should be sold for half price of what you originally bought it for, that way you the crate doesn't become too op, and will have a nerf to prevent people from overusing them. Also, you'll get a fraction of your money back! Isn't that nice?

You make a suggestion to be criticised. Not to have everyone love it
