I think this is the exact issue tbh. I watch to see the best golfers in the world compete, not to see TPC River Highlands. After the majors (and 3 of those are rotating venues), Players, Memorial, API, and then I guess Pebble and Riv, the events themselves aren’t too important imo. Yet I still watch every one. But for the players, not the association.

A lot of the PGA people that are pissed about what’s happening are those older golf people but times are changing.
