mostly good but kinda low on swimspeed with most of those ninja builds, fine enough tho

ab_iru can be cut on splash it doesn´t do a lot at 1 sub, if you want burst investment I´d recommend 2 subs ab_iss instead

ab_scu good but just 1 stray sub isn´t a huge difference either

one could say the ab_spu on wail is unusual, iirc it was decent enough of an effect tho

6 frames for recovering from completely empty to completely full, so realistically on average even less

iss also adds up a lot when you throw 3 in a row, like 2 in succession + one after recovering, because then the ab_iss ink save applies thrice

I mean if you’re playing support along with your team, you’re probably not gonna have many 1 on 1 interactions where having inksaversub is going to save you more shots for your main

after the ab_iss curve buff that came with the burst nerf it´s faster at recovering ink for bursts than having ab_iru

(and even then I wouldn´t vouch for only 1 sub of it anyways)

But wouldn’t you want to recover your main weapon as well? I mean your gonna be running out of ink after throwing 2 and trying to get a third in anyways

if you´re using 3 bursts its at range where you´re not even able to reach with splashs main

and due to white ink frames having more ink left over to shoot after bursts helps more since ab_iru can not help those

If youre getting bursts at range, you probably spending a bit of time in the ink

81 frames to recover ink for one burst with no abilities (45% of 180 frames)
79 frames to recover ink for one burst with 1 sub ab_iss (43.75% of 180 frames)
79 frames to recover ink for one burst with 1 sub ab_iru (45% of 174 frames)

63 frames to recover ink for third burst after throwing 2 bursts from full with no abilities (100 - 45 - 45: recovering from 10 to 45 of ink tank for the third, that being 35% of 180 frames: 63)
57 frames for third burst bomb with 1 sub ab_iss (100-43.75-43.75: recovering from 12.5 to 43.75 of an ink tank for the third, so needing to recover 31.25% of 180 frames: 57)
61 frames for third burst bomb with 1 sub ab_iru (100-45-45 : recovering from 10 to 45 of ink tank for the third, that being 35% of 174 frames: 61)

more significant than I expected ngl, I knew ab_iss had this as a bit of an advantage over ab_iru on bursts before too, but after the cost nerf/ that brought improved ab_iss curve buff it´s like this

(in the end it´s not like small differences like this matter a lot, but I like to optimise gear, it´s a pretty good splash build eitherways lol)

did some math for ink saver sub (iss) vs ink recovery (iru) burst bombs:

ink for 1 burst
base 81 frames
2s iss 77
2s iru 77

ink for third burst bomb after throwing 2 in succession from full tank
base 63 frames
2s iss 50 frames
2s iru 60 frames

iss really adds up more.

saving both main and sub ink is good but still it´s like by having more ink left over from burst you can shoot more with the main too, and without burst use splash on its own isn´t having problems with ink

if it was something like stamper maybe, where both the main and sub use a good chunk of ink I would understand it better
