Here’s mine:
Marina is an orphan
Callie, Marie, and Pearl (maybe Frye) are cuttlings
Inklings now know what octolings look like after the Squid vs Octopus splatfest
Inklings and octolings know their cousins
Inklings and octolings can swim in water while in their squid and octopus form
Ink is their blood
They take showers and baths with their own ink (inspired from a Splatoon comic between 2015-2016
There are more inklings and octolings out on different lands and their cultures are different but know about splatfest
Deep Cut don’t have a good relationship (ex:betraying each other, lying)

I've made headcanon names for all the unnamed songs in Splatoon 3: The "Lobby Sub" music, Crater Mission, the Alterna Overworld music, Alterna Mission music, as-of-yet unnamed music from the Alterna Space Center, even the Alterna cleanroom music.

Octolings with different eye masks, teeths, pupils, or height came from octolings hair who grew, they look like their owner but with small differences

Sheldon uses weapon licenses in Splatsville in order to let the generally poorer population of the city join in on the fun without mortgaging their houses.

I think this is more canon but, inkopolis just had no idea octoling were a thing and thought they were funny inklings, but then in splatsville I think to think there are more octolings than inklings there (just based on how much octolings I see compared to inklings)

How inklings and octolings respawn without the respawn machines:
Their own ink and enemies ink
In Splatoon 1 during the battle dojo, their isn’t a single respawn machine so how do they get back? They respawned from a puddle of their own ink
In Splatoon 3, if you get your character splatted in the lobby, they respawned on top of the enemy ink.
It shows that inklings and octolings can respawn in ink when there’s no machine to respawn but if they weren’t able to respawn in their own or enemies ink, they die

Marina thinks of mayochup as a symbol of her and pearl's love combining. It's not. Mayochup was something pearl made up in her garage at midnight.

Gear abilities are a purely psychological effect that comes from a phenomenon where your clothing changes how you are perceived by yourself and others. They can both be active or passive thoughts, but they change each character's behaviour all the same

My agent/captain 3 headcanons !

Their actual name is unknown to most as theyre much more comfortable with the name agent 3.
all pronouns
Agender + demi aromantic + ace + bi
They’ve been dating 8 since like a year after octo expansion and live with them and 4 (a happy 3rd wheel)
3s parents were focused on their job and weren’t that affectionate to her, that’s why the squid beak Splatoon is now what he considers his actual family and doesn’t talk to his parents anymore beyond a few cards for birthdays and such.
Very very passionate about the squidbeak and her missions.
Captain cuttlefish is like a father to them, and the squid sisters like their cousins ! It somewhat admires them.
After helping 8 learn inklish, 8 decided to return the favor and help 3 learn the octoling language ! However they’re a very slow learner, so after a while they both kind of gave up.
They always had a thing for music but it was the squid sisters and 8 who truly pushed them to become DJ Sango! And you’d be surprised how confident she gets when DJing. He takes inspiration from rap for his lyrics, techno for his sound, and a lot from Marina who taught her everything about DJing

It took them a while to get warmed up to neo3, but they’re now good friends.

Each turfling has a document where they record the latest revision date for each of their weapons, signed by the Ammo Knights rep. When a patch drops, turflings go to Ammo Knights to get their weapons fine tuned and their documents updated, keeping everything battle-legal. The document gets reviewed before every battle, and if the dates don't match they don't let you fight.

Relating to this, the Turf Wars association is in charge of balance and issues the changes to be made to each weapon and system. Sheldon, being the director, relays said changes to each Ammo Knights store

A little gadget called a Turf Card.
It (somehow?) displays all data related to Turf Wars, Ranked/League/Anarchy battles, and even Splatfest stats during the time. It also shows level and Summed-Up Rank (Splatoon 2’s ranking system in the Menu).

In an unofficial comic, Isuki displayed her Anarchy Rank-Up Series results, upset that she was one win away from X Rank. Therefore, the Turf Card displays recent matches aswell.

Is this the Menu… but on a card? Yes. Yes, it is.

Inklings and octolings have to concentrate in order to turn squid and octopus form and back to humanoid form but if they get squeezed and are terrified/scared then they wouldn't able to transform

1. Some Other Species (Like Salmonids) Can Also Super-Jump. It's Much More Difficult However And Takes Months, If Not YEARS Of Training. But Generally Speaking, Squishy Creatures Like Jellyfish, Anemones And Non-Transforming Molluscs Seem To Have An Easier Time

2. When They Get REALLY Pissed, Inklings And Octolings Can Jut Out Their Beaks As A Show Of Intimidation And Aggression, More Closely Resembling How Real Cephalopod Beaks Protrude Outwards

3. The Reason Older Octolings Generally Have Larger And Thicker Tentacles Is Because They're Now "Ripened", Meaning They Will Have A Much Higher Chance Of Growing Into Successful Octarians. The Tentacles Grow Back In About 2-4 Months Like Real Octopi, But They Will Only Start Ripening Once The Host Is Mature. Ripe Tentacles May Also Twitch And Curl, Though This May Also Just Be The Host Fidgeting Through Them. Those That Want To Keep Their Tentacles Short Will Cut Them Often. The reason the Eiffel Tower is near the crater is that they tired to save it from being flooded like the rest of Europe so they took it to Alterna and we’re gonna squeeze it in there but realized they didn’t have enough time and just put it next to it. The great flood later toppled over the tower and that’s why it is like it is today.

•Omega-3 (the Salmonid band) has definitely pirated some of the regular music, hence the songs “Bait and Click” and “Bait and Click ~ Mutation” being Clickbait remixes.

This might sound weird but it’s something I’m trying to conceptualise in my story

For turf war battles, the inkfish aren’t physically fighting each other, but they’re controlling a separate, kinda-like machine inkling. Y’know those complicated VR setups where you can physically run, jump etc in one place, imagine that, but controlling that separate the machine thingy that gets sent into the match

Then I can pull off a bunch of magic with this concept. The corporation doesn’t have to worry about killing players in the process of respawning. Players can perfectly get the same UI information, like who is splatted, where is someone saying what, and whatever location information. If you wanna change stages, we’ll just connect you to a machine at that location. These machines may be weak to water and can explode. I don’t have to worry about anyone’s blood pouring over the battlefield when they get splatted. Weapons can be seamlessly switched between matches. Lots of potential with this.

But it also gives me the ability to make hero mode more scary. By proposing that these machines aren’t used in hero mode (the reasons for that I am still exploring), I can add more stake for the agents. I can give them an actual reason to be tense in the presence of Octarians. Same vice versa. I can say, at best, with the respawning technology and the difficulty with respawning in general, the agents have, maybe at best, “3 lives.”

But of course I’m just spitballing, I haven’t yet decided on fully implementing this concept in my story
