no, ability points affects a curve that the game applies to the weapon
i would use https://sendou.ink to see what amount of ability affects what
this will probably make things more confusing but this is the math behind AP <=> shots
i don't know what the actual function is to get ink efficiency from AP but the values were pulled from sendou.ink and leanny.github.io
so a main of ISM nets you roughly 20 more shots per ink tank
1s gets you 6, 2s gets you 12

So does this mean if no point sensors are thrown I'm able to get 28 extra shots after doing seven full charges
it means you get 0.28 of a charge after 7 charges
think of it in percentages
