inklings have both halloween/splatoween and squidmas
The Inkipedia article for Inkling Culture claims that Squidmas is a localization thing, and that it's not in the Japanese version.
At least, I think that's what it's saying.
There's official Squidmas art, though.
Frosty fest is a holiday celebration in Splatoon, Squidmas is just something to call it to tie it more to the Christmas season (Also it's a pretty good play on words). At least that's what I've gathered.
Well I suppose squidmas would be christmas?
Squidmas
theres implications that inklings celebrate new years in a japanese kind of way
mentioned in haikara walker that inklings fly kites at new years, and in frosty fest theres stickers/graffiti of kagami mochi
I wonder if inklings do have access to some human historical records
Like horrificly misinterpereted
But still having access to them
mikan(tangerines) are associated with winter
after new years, tradionally the mochi is broken up and fried or put into soups
but for people who dont have the time for All That (having food sit out as decoration) there are fake kagami mochi for decoration
so it could be that inklings are the same as japan in eating it or maybe theyre just familiar with it as decor
wait are those manta ray shaped decorative flags?
