#How many weapons should you main?

I know that its not uncommon for people to play more than one class and that having some flexibility when it comes to weapons can be good thing however im curious if there a sweet spot when it comes to the number of weapons you should main? not too many to the point where youd feel overwhelmed and not too little that youd be pigeon holing yourself? 🤔

I usually switch between weapons sometimes, so maybe 3?

as many or as little as you want honestly. depends on what you want to do with the game and what you find interesting to do.

#

I have 1 main while dabbling with other weapons I find interesting.

#

my main is simply my weapon of choice to go back to when I want something that feels solid again, but I don't let it restrict me from trying out other things.

Honestly just main what comes naturally to you. While I think one tricking is good for getting a hang of how to play the game effectively, it’s nice to alternate between weapons you just have fun using.

#

I think you should avoid maining a ton of weapons IF you play mostly soloq and nothing else. I used to be solely a Zap, Dualie Squelcher, and Splash main. After joining my comp team however I desired trying a ton of different weapons so that my team has a lot to switch between with me, so I learned Jr, Flingza, Gal, Machine, and Splattershot which I wouldn’t have dedicated time to otherwise.

#

But if you’re not in that setting play whatever you want in the moment lol. If something is becoming more fun for you then don’t be afraid to pick it up and try it out! I’ve been playing Ballpoint in soloq myself and it’s been really fun!

#

Like I said tho, one tricking is usually not a bad idea because it helps you safely learn the advanced mechanics of the game without constantly fluctuating the weapon you’re using and having to readjust accordingly. I feel that maining multiple weapons moreso comes with time but it’s different for everyone!

#

I think the only thing you should account for with your picks is that if you stop using a weapon for a certain amount of time (I’ve dropped Tri-Slosher, Undercover, Dualie Squelchers, and Zap) then your skills in using them may begin to falter as you try to become skilled with the weapons you’re diverting more attention to.

#

I hope that’s helpful eeveeSmug

Always try out different weapons

#

if ur gonna start maining weapons, start by trying different weapons from your main weapon’s weapon class

#

it’s good to main all weapons so you get all the rewards

#

main as many as u want

#

it’s honestly up to u

narrow lantern
#

don’t use chargers if you have joycon drift and ur NOT using motion controls

#

I used eliter once, got 1 kill per match, due to sub and specials

#

what

#

anyways, the concept of needing to have a "main" i think is backwards

#

it's more a description of what people end up doing

#

rather than a description of what you need to fit

#

follow what draws you, commit to something for a while if it interests you to do so

#

if you're trying to figure out something to get down the fundamentals of play, find a strong weapon that roughly fits what you're wanting to learn and commit to it for a while to learn it.

Main as many feels comfy to you, I main abt 3-4 weapons

all of your comments have been so helpful ay ! I always found myself hoping between weapons and only switching weapons based on frustration leading to me not really having a solid weapon but honestly I think I just need to chill when it comes to 3 ill eventually find what suits me 😊

gentle lynx
#

sometimes you gotta give a weapon some faith and assume you need to know it better

#

this is why sometimes it's helpful to pick up a weapon you already know is strong

#

makes it easier to not blame the weapon and try to learn it. there's no weapon in this game that just gets free, easy wins for having picked it.

#

Always play with every single weapon. Pick probably 1 to 3 weapons you feel most comfortable with. Always consider what typemof person you are. Support, attack, inker?

gentle lynx
#

there's no need to try every single weapon

#

just try what seems interesting or appealing to you

#

i don't even bother with like 70% of the weapons in this game

#

also bear in mind that the classic moba/mmorpg idea of "support" doesn't really apply much in this game.

#

big part of why reeflux is kinda bad

#

you support teammates by dealing damage, helping finish people off, doing things that restrict what the other side can do, making openings for teammates

narrow lantern
#

It’s like me

#

I’m getting used to tenta brella

#

It’s a great support

granite magnet
#

I have 3 rn, Heavy for Anchor, Forge for Skirmish/Slayer, and I’m starting to main gloogas because I keep getting out maneuvered and wanted to try dualies, I might try 5H for support

#

I’d say probably stick to what you think is good or works well with you

#

If you can’t use a splatling, there’s always something else

#

Try different stuff when you feel like your main has taken you as far as possible

narrow lantern
#

I like using RG or carbon for turf, Splat brella for Zones, and Eliter for Tower control

granite magnet
#

The weapons I used are 52 gal, Sploosh automatic, tentatek splattershot, and dualie squelches.

narrow lantern
#

When it comes to rainmaker or Clam Blitz, I always put on my inkbrush

#

I'm "flexing" in chargers but pocket most dualies for more options lol

#

it's becoming a problem

narrow lantern
#

I have a 4 star Aerospray MG and Carbon roller

#

RG, E-liter and Inkbrush are probably next

#

then brella and tenta brella

I can’t say ANYTHING about this except for me it doesn’t matter. Here’s my list of mains: Splash-o-matic, Stamper, Swiper, Bloblobber, Squiffer, Custom Jr, Splattershot Jr, Tri-stringer, Tri-Slosher, Carbon Deco, Explosher, Inkbrush, Luna Blaster Neo, Nautilus, Flingza, and Forge Pro. I do equally great with them all and I would recommend if you want to have a fun time to main several weapons.

#

Some I use for different occasions, like tri slosher for tower control and clam blitz, Luna neo for tower control, Splash o magic for zones and rainmaker, and it varies depending on the weapon.

#

It’s great for turf inkers who want to win the game

#

and for people who can’t aim

#

just remember tho, that many people can’t aim due to joycon drift

gentle lynx
#

just play tri slosher

#

and for turf output, splash is still generally better

narrow lantern
#

I prefer using aero
