#Why launch a rocket underground!?

Well, in the final battle Grizz did it successfully, so, like, yeah.
There is the giant hole leading from the Crater to Alterna, and judging by the official map they released a while ago, said hole seems just big enough for the rocket to fit through.
But yeah, even then, that doesn’t make any sense at all.
It should be noted that in the cutscene in which Grizz rides the rocket to space, you can see a perfectly circular hole that has opened up in the dome
And the rocket is heading straight for it
The scientists likely cut some kind of hole or hatch-opening mechanism into the top of the dome to facilitate the rocket’s launch
The place where the dome is located wasn’t even truly subterranean. Iirc it was first built at the bottom of a dormant volcanic caldera, meaning there was likely some solid access to the sky back then. Of course, with all the flooding, it’s likely that layers and layers of sediment were pushed on top of the dome at the bottom of the caldera, and not only that, but after many thousands of years, the top of the dome would be completely covered in sand and other sediments
However, when the Alternans were planning to launch their rocket, these changes would’ve been minimal at best, considering only like, 2 or 3 generations had come and gone
Meaning that they would’ve had a clear open space to launch from
In essence, this was basically the launch situation when the humans were planning it
Here’s how it is in modern times
Though even with all this sand and dirt, the “top” of the mound atop the dome appears to have a circular hatch as well, possibly constructed by Grizz as a way to launch the rocket while also taking advantage of all the stuff covering the dome
In any case, the humans weren’t really launching a rocket underground per se
to be fair grizz is still a bear not the brightest
He also gained a terrifying amount of intelligence after thousands of years of somehow-conscious cryogenic hibernation
Still, what is very dumb is how did an eel Sharknado had the same effectiveness to go into space as a whole ass rocket
Magic
to be fair you dont ride mr mega up the whole way, iirc its basically an assisted superjump. still completely bonkers that somehow reaches the rocket but still
welcome to Splatoon, where everything is pretty logical until it just isn’t sometimes
Tru
they launched it underground cause they werent allowed to go the the surface
the rocket was so they could escape underground
despite being intelligent enough to built a rocket they were too dumb to realize launching a rocket underground is a disaster waiting to happen
again to be fair people have mentioned that a circular hole appears in the roof in the cutscene where grizz launches
admittedly i do question why they couldnt just build, like, a tower or a ladder or something
also true
the young scientists of alterna are the epitome of that old tabletop roleplaying joke of "High INT, Low WIS"
Tbf they were described by even ORCA as being like, impatient and brash
that would explain a lot about inkling personality
also damm i didnt catch that
you should have finished this with "thank you for coming to my Ted talk"
I should have
How do any members of any Splatoon command squad see your actions
Admittedly you could say that Marina hacked into the cameras of Kamabo Co. but in every other campaign there’s just seemingly no explanation
camera in the hero suit
of course
though that begs the question of where that camera goes when the hero suit gets smashed
subdermal implant
implanted through the same method you get changed into the hero suit in less than a second
might be in the headset? you dont lose the headset in alterna right
saying you lost your stuff is an overstatement
you immediately get them back
like its nothing
you do lose them but you get this replacement on the right ear of the 2nd position
thanks
